3 Political Prisoners Released in Hamedan and Tehran

HRANA News Agency – Majid Rahmat Abadi and Farshid Tajmiri, two students who had been detained in the recent protests, were released on the bail from Hamedan Prison. Ali Shariati, political prisoner, was also released on parole after serving three years of his 5-year imprisonment.

Karim Zarger Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Karim Zarger, former head of the School of Radio and Television in Iran, who had been recently sentenced to death along with Marjan Davari on charge of promoting  new movement  of Sufism; Eckankar, was executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.

Massoud Falehgari Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Massoud Falehgari, who had been arrested in the recent national protests, was released on a bail of 300 million IRR from Hamedan Central Prison, on January 8.

Sediq Eini Exiled to Ardebil Prison

HRANA News Agency – A prisoner named Sediq Eini, who had been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on charges of espionage through cooperation with a Kurdish opposition to the regime, by the Military Court of Ormieh, was exiled to Ardebil Prison, after his verdict was verified by the Supreme Court.

Five Detainees in Borujerd under Pressure for False Confessions

HRANA News Agency – The Ministry of Intelligence issued a statement announcing the arrest of “the core of the terrorist group in Borujerd”. The statement claimed that the core has played a role in subversive acts during the recent national protests. Also, a member of this group has been wounded in a clash during the arrest, according to the security agency. Two hours after the issuance of the announcement, two of the arrestees were brought to the provincial TV and confessed against themselves.
Close relatives to these people, in contact with HRANA, rejected the allegations and said “they were merely part of the protesters in recent events; two of the detainees referred to are known underground artists in the Lorestan region, and none of them has a previous prison record or previous political activity.” The families of these people are worried that their children will be victimized by the security system’s advertising scenarios, which have a background. Shapur Rashno Deprived of Meeting His Lawyer

HRANA News Agency – Shapur Rashno, an activist in Andimeshk city, has been arrested by Intelligence Office’s agents in Ahwaz on January 7, 2018. Despite several weeks since being arrested, he is still deprived of the right to have a lawyer.

Atena Daemi Ended Her Hunger Strike, Golrokh Iraei Continues with Drinking Water

HRANA News Agency – At the request of a number of human rights defenders, Atena Daemi has stopped her hunger strike after 13 days, 6 days of which were dry hunger strike. However, Glorokh Iraei has announced that she would stop her dry hunger strike (not drinking fluids), but would continue her hunger strike by drinking water.

13 Detainees of Recent Protests Summoned to the Court in Tonekabon

HRANA News Agency – Thirteen protesters who had been arrested in recent protests by security forces, were summoned to Tonekabon Justice Office. The allegations were announced as; “participating in illegal gatherings”, “insulting the leadership”, “disrupting public order”, and “propaganda against the regime”.

A Report on the Latest Status of Alireza Golipour

HRANA News Agency – Azita Gharebigloo, the lawyer of Alireza Golipour, security prisoner in Evin Prison, said that the prosecutor did not pay attention to the condition of Mr. Golipour despite issuing punishment intolerance verdict and having the right of medical furlough and he is still serving his imprisonment in uncertainty with the severity of his illness. He is currently able to tolerate pain only by injection of morphine.
