HRANA News Agency – Ahwaz Revolutionary Court sentenced four defendants of the so-called “Hamidieh Case” to long term in prison and three other defendants to death. The sentences were upheld by the appeals court. According to informed sources defendants were between 20 and 25 years old when they were arrested.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in 2015, there was an attack on police soldiers’ tent in Gombohe of Hamidieh city inspection by some people on “a motorcycle”. HRANA News Agency – Green Space of “Farhang Park” in the city of Piranshahr of Western Azerbaijan province in the wake of disputed claims of ownership of land was demolished on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Following this action the residents protested. So far, authorities have not given any explanation in this regard and it was supposed that citizens would continue their protest on the next days.

HRANA News Agency – The retaliation sentences of the eyes and ears of at least 5 prisoners including Mojtaba Yasavali in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj are ready for implementation. However, despite pressure from the judiciary, the medical community has resisted so far to execute these sentences.

HRANA News Agency – Eleven prisoners (all 22 to 25 years) were hanged in Rajai Shahr prison on charge of murder on May 25, 2016. One of the prisoners whose identity has been verified by the HRANA, was a juvenile offender and was 16 years old at the time of arrest.

HRANA News Agency – More than 70 political prisoners are kept in Rajaei Shahr and Evin prisons who have been charged with Muharebeh. Considering the recent changes in the penal code, they need to be re-tried. After a re-trial most of these prisoners are expected to be released. HRANA published the names of 32 prisoners of these two prisons who have been charged with Muharebeh.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), considering the fact that article 186 has been superseded, political prisoners with the charge of Muharebeh need to be re-tried. Therefore the names of 32 prisoners who are imprisoned in Evin and Rajaei Shahr prisons on this charge are being published by HRANA. HRANA News Agency – Two prisoners who had been charged with murder, were executed in Urmia prison and another one survived by obtaining the consent of the next of kin.
