Arrests of Sunni Muslims in Iran continues

HRANA News Agency – Four Sunni Muslims, Khaled Malaki, Abdol Karim Karimi, Ali and Abdol Hadi, were arrested by security forces in the city of Sanandaj last week.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the families of the men were reportedly not informed that they had been arrested until they visited the Ministry of Intelligence in Sanandaj after growing increasingly concerned about the men’s whereabouts. 34 days of hunger strike for four Sunni prisoners awaiting execution

HRANA News Agency – The condition of four Sunni prisoners awaiting execution in Iran is deteriorating after 34 days on hunger strike.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Molayee, Jahangir Dehghani and Jamshed Dehghani began their hunger strike on 14 June 2014 after they were transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj in order for their execution to be carried out. Disabled Sunni prisoner deprived of adequate medical treatment

HRANA News Agency – Abdol Rahman Sangani, a disabled Sunni prisoner who is currently awaiting execution in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, has been deprived of adequate medical care by the prison authorities.

Sunni prisoner deprived of medical treatment

HRANA News Agency – Aram Mikaeli, a Sunni prisoner of conscience detained in Saghez Central Prison, Kurdistan province of Iran, has been deprived of medical treatment despite suffering from numerous medical conditions.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), despite the judicial authorities approving a period of medical leave for Aram to receive medical treatment, the security forces have prevented the decision from being enforced. Manuchher Kholousi’s trial adjourned in Mashhad

HRANA News Agency – Manuchher Kholousi, a Bahai from Mashhad, was tried on July 8.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA),  he was charged with “acting against national security by giving interviews with foreign media.” However no interviews with Mr. Kholousi are known, in either Iranian or foreign media. 2 Sunnis arrested a month ago still have no contact with family

HRANA News Agency – Two Sunni activists who were arrested in Iran a month ago have still not been allowed to contact their families.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 21-year old Mohammad Darabi, the son of the Friday prayer Imam for Rejaw in Kermanshah, northwestern Iran, was active in Sunni religious activities and involved in religious work. Court of Appeals confirms prison sentence for Sunni preacher

HRANA News Agency – The Court of Appeals in Tehran has confirmed the six-year prison sentence for Sunni preacher Foad Rezazadeh just months after he was reportedly tortured by agents from the Ministry of Intelligence in order to force him to sign false ‘confessions’.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Foad Rezazadeh was sentenced to six years imprisonment by judge Mohammad Moghisseh in Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on 8 January 2014.
