HRANA News Agency – An estimated number of 50 Political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj have been transferred to a new security ward. In this ward, where even bathrooms are equipped with CCTV cameras, there are more limits for prisoners. This new situation has prompted political prisoners to protest. 12 prisoners have gone on hunger strike and 6 inmates are in solitary confinement. Tensions in this ward continue.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), with the presence of a large number of prison guards, and without prior notice, about 50 political prisoners in Hall 12 of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj were transferred to a place which has been built from a long time ago by the security forces. This site is equipped with a large number of surveillance cameras and surveillance devices, as well as shields that separate it from the rest of the prison. Hossain Mehrandish Released on the Bail
HRANA News Agency – Hossain Mehrandish, a lawyer who had been arrested by the order of the judge in branch number 29 during defending his client in Shahid Madani court was released by the help of a group of lawyers and putting the bail. After being arrested and beaten in the head, he was transferred to a medical centre because of a heart failure where he was again beaten by an officer of police station number 148 of Enghelab.
A close source to Mr. Mehrandish’s family told HRANA’s reporter about the details of that incident, “Mr. Mehrandish was few minutes late in a session that he had in branch number 29 of Tehran, and realized that the secretary was reporting the absence of the lawyer. Mr. Mehrandish told him: ‘I am here, I was just a little bit late.’ Despite that, that secretary told him that he was late. The judge sided with the secretary, but he responded that ‘I am a lawyer and I have no reason to lie. If you want to side with your secretary that is your choice.’ Then the judge ordered him out of room and the security of court arrested him”. Pressures Rise on Prisoners of Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – Thousands of prisoners in Rajai shahr prison in Karaj, are suffering from health and respiratory problems more than before. That is due to the lack of ventilation systems after the closure of fresh air to the Halls and rooms in this prison. In addition, during the recent months, prisoners have reported the spread of headaches and nausea among prisoners following the installation of a large number of parasite devices in the prison.

Majid Moghadam Beaten by Ordinary Prisoners in Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Majid Abedinzadeh Moghadam, civil activist and one of the witnesses of Kahrizak prison, who is serving his 3 years imprisonment sentence in ward eight of Evin prison, was beaten by non-political prisoners. Failure to comply with the principle of separation of prisoners based on the kind of crimes and beating political prisoners by other prisoners is a common problem in Iranian prisoners. In recent months, also other political prisoners, including Keivan Karimi, Mehdi Rajabian, Amir Amirgholi, and Vahid Siyadi Nasir were beaten by the prisoners of the general wards of Evin prison.

Mohammad Nazari; Serving His 24th Year with No Hope for Freedom
HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Nazari, ill political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr of Karaj, began to serve his 24th year of imprisonment in this prison. This political prisoner has been deprived of parole, medical furlough and proper medical treatment due to ambiguous paper work and administrative processes, despite suffering from heart disease and arteritis.

Vahid Sayadi’s Sentence Reduced to 30 Months
HRANA News Agency –Vahid Sayadi’s sentence of 8 years of imprisonment on charges like insulting the supreme leader was reduced to 30 months.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Vahid Nasiri, political prisoner who had previously been charged with belligerence, insulting the supreme leader and propaganda against the regime and sentenced respectively to 5, 2 and 1 years in prison, after article 134 (accumulation of sentences) was applied to his case, must serve a total of 30 months.
Need to be mentioned, appeal court session of Vahid Sayadi was held on December 15, in branch number 54 by judge Babaei.
Previously, Mr. Sayadi had started a hunger strike on October 16, 2016, in protest to undecided condition of his case. This political prisoner was sentenced to 8 years in prison for charges like insulting the supreme leader and belligerence. But after 13 months since his request for appeal, no session had been held for him.
Vahid Sayadi finally ended his long hunger strike after his appeal court session was scheduled.
A Prisoner Made Naked and Humiliated in Rajaei Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – A prisoner in Rajaei Shahr prison, who complained about “public” sexual relationship between some prisoners was beaten by ward’s personnel and exiled to another section. In addition, authorities of this section, made him naked to humiliate him.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Nader Mohammadi, a prisoner from Saghez city who is on death row on charge homicide, is currently serving in ward number two (Dar Al Quran) of Rajaei Shahr prison. He had started a hunger strike in protest to public sexual relationship between prisoners and ignorance of officials and was beaten and humiliated, and transferred to another section as a punishment. A Prisoners Committed Suicide in Ghezelhesar Prison and Died
HRANA News Agency – A young prisoner committed suicide in Ghezelhesar prison on May 1st and due to delay in response and transferring him to the clinic, he died in section number 2 of the prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a new prisoner who was charged with drug possession and trafficking and imprisoned in hall number one in section 2 of Ghezelhesar prison, committed suicide and died due to delay in response from the official on his transfer to prison clinic.
