Report on the Arrest of Kameen Korki in Mashhad

HRANA – Kameen Korki, the brother of death row political prisoner Ruhollah Korki, was arrested by security forces in Mashhad on Friday, July 3. His whereabouts remain unknown.

According to HRANA, Kameen Korki has now been held in detention for eight days.

Based on information received by HRANA, Kameen Korki was arrested by security forces in Mashhad on Friday, July 3, and transferred to an undisclosed location. A source close to the Korki family confirmed the arrest and told HRANA that, today, a notification was issued through Iran’s Sana electronic judiciary system informing him that his case had been referred to Branch 257 of the Investigative Office of the Mashhad Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the source, Kameen has had no contact with his family throughout his detention, further intensifying their concerns about his condition and whereabouts.

At the time of writing, no information has been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against him.

Kameen Korki, aged approximately 34, is a married resident of Tehran. He is the brother of Ruhollah Korki, a political prisoner sentenced to death, and Amin Korki, who was arrested during the nationwide protests of December 2017. It is worth noting that Amin Korki died under unclear circumstances in April 2018 after being re-arrested.

HRANA – Ruhollah Korki, a political prisoner held in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, has been sentenced to death.

Based on information received by HRANA, Ruhollah Korki was sentenced to death. Some time ago, the indictment against this citizen was issued on charges including “publishing and disclosing confidential documents,” “cooperation with the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK),” “spying for Israel and exchanging military and security information,” “insulting sanctities and officials,” and “acting against national security.” The case had been referred to Ahvaz Criminal Court Two.

Mr. Korki was transferred to Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz on October 2, 2025. He had previously been arrested by security forces in Andimeshk on August 5, 2025.

It should be noted that Ruhollah Korki is the brother of Amin Korki, one of those arrested during the nationwide protests of December 2017–January 2018. Amin Korki died under unclear circumstances in March 2018 after being rearrested.

Ruhollah Korki, aged approximately 47, is married and originally from Andimeshk County.

HRANA – On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, Ruhollah Korki, a resident of Andimeshk, was arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

A source close to the family confirmed the arrest, telling HRANA: “Mr. Korki was detained by plainclothes agents while walking with his young daughter on a street in Andimeshk. His daughter returned home in tears. The arresting agents were reportedly affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).”

It remains unclear whether Korki is being held in Andimeshk or has been transferred to Ahvaz. While the family was informed that the arresting forces had come from Ahvaz, some evidence suggests he may still be held locally.

As of the time of this report, the reasons for Korki’s arrest and any charges brought against him have not been disclosed.

Ruhollah Korki is the brother of Amin Korki, who was arrested during the nationwide protests of December 2017. Amin Korki died under suspicious circumstances in April 2018 following a second arrest.
