The List of Male Prisoners Charged with Muharebeh and Sentenced to between 15 to 20 Years in Prison

HRANA News Agency – According to the changes related to Muharebeh (waging war against god) in the New Islamic Penal Code, those who have been convicted of Muharebeh based on the previous penal code, will now have the possibility for a retrial, commutation and release. Currently tens of prisoners in Iranian prisons are convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons, this includes at least 37 male prisoners who are facing 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. The following is the fourth list published in regards to “Prisoners Convicted of Muharebeh” and is dedicated to these 37 male prisoners. The previously published lists in this series include “Women Convicted of Muharebeh”, “Male Prisoners Sentenced to life in prison”, and “Male Prisoners Sentenced to More than 20 Years in Prison.”

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), there are currently at least thirty-seven male prisoners in Iranian prisons who have been convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons and have been sentenced between 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. Since 2013, According to the changes in regards of Muharebeh in the new Islamic Penal Code, these prisoners could apply for retrial. Many of them could receive commutations and reach their release soon and considering the long prison terms of some of them, it could provide them the possibility of being release. Based on the new Penal Code, adopted in 2013, the charges of “Muharebeh (waging war against god)”, “Mofset-Fil-Arz (Sowing Corruption on earth)” and “Baghi (withdrawing from the obedience of the Islamic religious authority)” under Articles 279 to 288 have been redefined. 2 Political Prisoners Of Urumieh Prison Returned From Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – Mostafa Sabzi and Rahman Rashidzade, two political prisoners of Urumieh Prison who after announcing hunger strike had been transferred to solitary confinement, were returned to the ward by ending their hunger strike and the promise of prison authorities to address their demands.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the two mentioned political prisoners were asking the prison authorities to transfer them to the political prisoner’s ward, and were protesting the failure to implement the law that requires the prison authorities to classify and separate prisoners based on the crimes they have committed. 3 political prisoners were again interrogated by intelligence officers

HRANA News Agency – Alireza Ayoubi, Mostafa Sabzi and Amin Ashrafi were summoned to Security Office of Urmieh Central Prison and treated violently there.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Alireza Ayoubi, Mostafa Sabzi and Amin Ashrafi were summoned by the Intelligence Office of Urmieh prison on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but they refused to attend. No information about 3 Kurdish political prisoners

HRANA News Agency – Fifty five days after the arrest of six Kurdish citizens by IRGC forces, there is no information about three of them.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), fifty five days ago six Kurdish citizens have been arrested by IRGC forces and the status of three of them is still unknown. Five of these activists, with the names of Reza Ayoubi, Mostafa Sabzi, Esmaeil Akhtari, Naser Badavi and Abdullah Badavi are from Makou city and one, with the name of Rashid Salehi is from Khoy.
