Afarin Chitsaz and Ehsan Mazandarani Released from Evin Prison

Officials Disagree with Narges Mohammadi’s Demand

At Least 4 Azerbaijani Civil Rights Activists Arrested in Ahar and Tabriz

Maryam Naghash Zargaran Returned to Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Maryam Naghash Zargaran (also known as Nasim), an imprisoned Christian convert, who had been released on medical leave, went back to Evin prison midway through her treatment as attorney general refused to extend her furlough and threatened to confiscate the bail collateral.
Maryam was granted medical leave on June 6, marking her 11th day of hunger strike. Jaber Sakhravi’s Sentence Reduced to 12 Years and 5 Months
HRANA News Agency – Jaber Sakhravi’s sentence of 14 years and six months imprisonment was reduced to 12 years and 5 months by branch 16 of the Court of Appeal in Ahwaz. However, after two strokes, general health condition of Jaber Sakhravi in Shiban prison in Ahwaz has been reported as inappropriate.

4 Civil Rights Activists’ Trial Postponed
HRANA News Agency – Because of the absence of two of the three judges as well as the absence of one of the defendants, the hearing of appeal court for civil activists, Atena Daemi, Omid Alishenas, Aso Rostami, Ali Nouri and Mohammad Hossein Daemi (Athena’s father) was postponed to August 3. This hearing was scheduled to be held in Branch 36 of the Appeals Court of Tehran Province on July 5.
