Video Footage of Public Lashing in Padadshahr in Ahwaz

HRANA News Agency – The following video footage shows a public lashing in Padadshahr in Ahwaz, on a prisoner who according to the loudspeaker on the ground was sentenced to 4 years in prison and 74 lashes on charge of theft, in branch number 15 of criminal court. UN Expert Calls for an Immediate Moratorium after Iran Hands Down Death Penalty to a Prisoner of Conscience

HRANA News Agency – The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, Ahmed Shaheed, yesterday urged the Iranian authorities to immediately commute the death penalty recently handed down to Mohammad Ali Tehari, a well-known author of alternative medical theories practiced in Iran and abroad, and founder ofErfan-e-Halgheh (Inter-Universalism), an arts and culture institute in Tehran which promoted healing concepts.

Mr. Taheri was reportedly sentenced to death on 1 August on charges of ‘Fisad-fil-Arz’ (‘Corruption on Earth’), while he was serving a five year sentence. He was arrested in May 2011 and sentenced to five years in prison for insulting Islamic sanctities. Death Sentence on Alternative Health Practitioner Highlights Alarming Use of Capital Punishment in Iran

HRANA News Agency – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein today expressed alarm at the imposition of the death penalty on Mohammad Ali Taheri, the founder of a spiritual movement, writer and practitioner of alternative medicine theories used in Iran and abroad. Taheri was sentenced to death on Saturday by the Revolutionary Court on a charge of Fesad fel Arz (corruption on earth).

“Iran’s use of the death penalty has long been problematic, with many executions on drug offences, several executions of people who were below the age of 18 when the crime was committed, as well as other cases where broad, ill-defined charges led to the imposition of capital punishment,” Zeid said. 3 Prisoners Executed in Rafsanjan

HRANA News Agency – Three prisoners who had been sentenced to death were hanged in Rafsanjan prison.

4 Prisoners Hanged in the Prison of Isfahan

HRANA News Agency – Four prisoners were hanged in the prison of Isfahan and there are 6 others waiting for execution in Bandar Abbas and Zahedan prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), four of those convicted of drug-related crimes were hanged in Dastgerd prison, in Isfahan on Wednesday 29th July. 5 Prisoners Executed in Shahab Prison in Kerman

HRANA News Agency – Five prisoners, who were sentenced to death, were executed in “Shahab” prison in Kerman and 3 others were transferred to solitary confinements for execution.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), these prisoners were all sentenced to death on charge of drug related crimes who were 4 men and 1 woman. A Death Sentence Issued after Consent of the Complainants

HRANA News Agency – The images below are evidences that show the procedure of issuing an execution sentence for Ehsan Shah Qasemi, who has been charged with murder of a “Nahi e Monkar”, (Vice Preventer), and has been sentenced to death. The images show that the death time was three years after the conflict and the person who had been beaten up, had already signed a formal consent and had received some money as well, as compensation or treatment expenses.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ehsan Shah Qasemi and his friends had a conflict with a member of “Basij”, called Ali Khalili, in July 2011, after he gave them a warning as a “Vice Preventer” and then in the fighting, Ehsan Shah Qasim knifed Ali Khalili. Video Footage of Graves of Executed Political Prisoners at Home Yards

HRANANews Agency – Political prisoners massacre in the 80’s, is undeniable and also sad reality of Iranian contemporary history and an old wound on the body of civil society. These mass executions were happened between 1380 to 1388 across the country, and its victims were buried in different parts and in different ways, in addition that many burial places were never specified, in the cities, especially in the Northern region of country such as Golestan province due to lack of permission to bury victims in a public cemetery. The bodies of many of those executed had been buried by their families in their private homes.

The following footage is a short illustrated report that gives the story of the burial site for some of the victims in the village of “Gaz Sharghi” of Bandar Gaz in Golestan province.
