HRANA News Agency – Sholeh Pakravan, Mohammad Noorizad and several other participants in the anniversary of execution of Reyhaneh Jabbari were arrested by the security forces and the ceremony was stopped.

Sina Ghalandari Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison

HRANA News Agency – Sina Ghalandari, 30, journalist from Koohdasht was sentenced to two years imprisonment because of informing the public about elections in the region, “without presence in the court and with no opportunity to define”.

Ahmad Montazeri’s Court Session Held Behind Closed Doors

HRANA News Agency – The court session of Ahmad Montazeri, Ayatollah Montazeri’s son for releasing the audio file regarding the executions in 1988, was held without the presence of a jury or a lawyer and behind the closed doors.

The Verdict of Appeal Court of 4 Civil Rights Activists

HRANA News Agency – According to the issued verdict in branch number 36 of the appeal court of Tehran province, by judge Ghomizadeh for 4 civil rights activist, Atena (Fatimah) Daemi, Omid Alishenas, Aso Rostami and Ali Noori, their sentences have been reduced from respectively 14, 10, 7, and 7 to 7, 7, 2 and 2 years.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the appeal court of 4 civil rights activists, Atena (Fatima) Daeimi, Omid Alishenas, Aso Rostami, Ali Noori and Mohammad Hossain Daemi (Atena’s father) was held in branch number 36 of Tehran on August 3, and the verdict was submitted to their lawyers on September 28. Tehran Appeal Court Reduced the Sentences of 4 Civil Rights Activists

The List of Male Prisoners Charged with Muharebeh and Sentenced to between 15 to 20 Years in Prison

HRANA News Agency – According to the changes related to Muharebeh (waging war against god) in the New Islamic Penal Code, those who have been convicted of Muharebeh based on the previous penal code, will now have the possibility for a retrial, commutation and release. Currently tens of prisoners in Iranian prisons are convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons, this includes at least 37 male prisoners who are facing 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. The following is the fourth list published in regards to “Prisoners Convicted of Muharebeh” and is dedicated to these 37 male prisoners. The previously published lists in this series include “Women Convicted of Muharebeh”, “Male Prisoners Sentenced to life in prison”, and “Male Prisoners Sentenced to More than 20 Years in Prison.”

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), there are currently at least thirty-seven male prisoners in Iranian prisons who have been convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons and have been sentenced between 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. Since 2013, According to the changes in regards of Muharebeh in the new Islamic Penal Code, these prisoners could apply for retrial. Many of them could receive commutations and reach their release soon and considering the long prison terms of some of them, it could provide them the possibility of being release. Based on the new Penal Code, adopted in 2013, the charges of “Muharebeh (waging war against god)”, “Mofset-Fil-Arz (Sowing Corruption on earth)” and “Baghi (withdrawing from the obedience of the Islamic religious authority)” under Articles 279 to 288 have been redefined.
