HRANA- The head of the Armed Forces Judicial Organization said, “The Kahrizak case is in the final stages of the appeals process and a final verdict will soon be reached.”
Hojatoleslam Mohammad Kazem Bahrami spoke to Fars News agency during his trip to Ardebil. He stated that the case is in appeals due to complaints from both the accusers and the accused regarding the original verdict. He said, “In this case, both parties have right to appeal and after the final verdict is announced we will implement the sentence.”

Abolfazl Abedini Denied Visitation Rights
HRANA- As of Tuesday morning journalist and former executive of Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRA), Abolfazl Abedini, has been denied visitation rights with his family.
Abolfazl Abedini’s mother was informed by prison authorities on Tuesday morning that her son is being denied visitations until further notice when she went to visit him in Ahvaz’s Karoon Prison.

Political Prisoner Hamed Roohinejad Suffering from Paralysis as he is Refused Medical Treatment
HRANA- Hamed Roohinejad, a political prisoner in Evin Prison, is in critical condition due to complications related to multiple sclerosis and a lack of proper medical care.
It is reported that he is suffering from paralysis in one arm and that he is having severe issues with his eyesight. In addition, Hamed Roohinejad has developed problems hearing. Although he has developed numerous medical problems, prison authorities have refused Hamed the proper medical care.
Behrouz Javid Tehrani’s Time in Solitary Confinement Extended
HRANA- Authorities in Karaj’s Rajae Shahr Prison have extended Behrouz Javid Tehrani’s time in solitary confinement at the request of the Ministry of Intelligence. Although he has spent over a month in solitary confinement, authorities have been ordered to keep him confined in solitary until at least after the anniversary of the 1999 student protests.

After Ten Years in Prison, Saeed Masouri Continues to be Deprived of his Basic Rights
HRANA- Dr. Saeed Masouri, political prisoner sentenced to life in Rajae Shahr Prison continues to be deprived of leave after serving over one third of his sentence.
Dr. Saeed Masouri was originally sentenced to death for his affiliation with a banned political organization. His sentence was later reduced to a life term. He continues to be deprived of leave [a basic right under the law] although he has served ten years of his prison term. In an interview with HRANA, Masouri’s family stated that they petitioned the court last month regarding the status of his leave, however, Tehran’s prosecutor general Dolatabadi has postponed responding to the request alleging that he is not familiar with Masouri’s file.
Majid Tavakoli Suffering from Severe Bleeding in the Stomach
HRANA- Imprisoned student activist Majid Tavakoli is suffering from severe internal bleeding in his stomach. His health is in a critical state and authorities have not transferred Majid to the hospital.
Mr. Tavakoli was recently transferred to ward 350 of Evin Prison where there are no medical facilities. He has been suffering from a severe cough that is not being treated, causing his condition to deteriorate.

Orumieh Prison Physicians Go on Strike as Condition of Prisoner Kaveh Kordi Moghadam Deteriorates
HRANA – The physicians in Orumieh prison went on strike today in protest to their working conditions. The physicians are protesting months of non payment of their wages and the lack of resources to treat the prisoners. They declared that they will not return to work until conditions are changed.
Nasour Naghipour Has Been Released
HRANA- Journalist and human rights activist Nasour Naghipour has been released after being detained for 110 days. He has been released from Evin Prison until his trial.
Mr. Naghipour was arrested during the sweeping arrest by security forces of human rights activists last March. He has been released on bail from Ward 2A controlled by the Revolutionary Guard.

HRANA – Freelance journalist Reza Rafiee Forooshan has been detained in Rajaiee Shahr Prison for months and his requests for temporary leave has been denied.
