The execution of 10 men is so closed

HRANA News Agency – The execution of 10 men who were transferred to Evin prison on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 is so closed.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 10 men sentenced to death with charge of drug trafficking who were transferred from Ghezelhesar prison to Ward 240 of Evin prison on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 will be executed so soon.

No News on the Condition of Jailed Blogger Rojin Mohammadi

HRANA News Agency – Although one week has passed since Rojin Mohammadi was arrested upon arriving in Iran, nothing is known about her current condition.Rojin Mohammadi is a blogger and medical student at the University of Manila (UM) in Philippines.

It has been reported that Rojin Mohammadi is currently being held in solitary confinement in Ward 2A of Evin Prison.This ward is under the control of Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (IRGC).Thus far, Rojin Mohammadi has been denied access to an attorney and also phone calls or visits with her family.

Iranian judicial and security officials refuse to disclose to her family where in Evin Prison Rojin Mohammadi is being held.Other reports indicate that the prosecutor at the 3rd branch of Evin Court has charged Rojin Mohammadi with conspiracy against national security and propaganda against the regime by the means of human rights activism.

Nine days ago, on November 14, 2011, Rojin Mohammadi flew from Istanbul to Tehran.Upon arriving at Imam Khomeini Airport, she was arrested by Iranian security agents and taken to Evin Prison.She was then released on bail after being detained for 24 hours.Five days later, on November 19, 2011, security agents raided her father’s house in Kermanshah in order to arrest her again.However, since she was not home at the time of the raid, the police failed to take her into custody.

On November 21, 2011, Rojin Mohammadi was summoned by phone to Shahid Moghadasi Court in Evin Prison, and her personal belongings including a computer were confiscated.She was interrogated for 3 consecutive days and finally arrested again on November 23, 2011 and locked up behind bars in Evin Prison.

Three Ahl-e Haqq Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Yazd

HRANA News Agency – Three prisoners who belong to a religious minority commonly known as Ahl-e Haqq began their hunger strike in Yazd Central Prisoners on Sunday, July 24, 2011.

According to a report by Mukrian News Agency and sources close to these prisoners, Sahand Ali Mohammadi, Bakhash Ali Mohammadi and Abadollah Ghasamzadeh are on hunger strike to protest against being retried for unknown reasons.

These three political prisoners are residents of Uch-Tappeh Village located in Miandoab County, West Azerbaijan Province.During the clashes which took place in the city of Miandoab between Ahl-e Haqq followers and Iranian security forces in 2004, Sahand Ali Mohammadi, Bakhash Ali Mohammadi and Abadollah Ghasamzadeh were arrested, tried and sentenced to 13 years in prison. They were also exiled to Yazd Central Prison to serve their sentences.

 

Arrested on April 2nd in Tabriz, Three Detainees Transferred to the Intelligence Agency

HRANA News Agency – Although a number of detainees have been released after being arrested in a gathering held in Tabriz [Capital of East Azerbaijan Province, Iran] on April 2, 2011, reports indicate that three of them were transferred to the Intelligence Agency in town.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the three civil rights activists of Azerbaijan have been identified as Habib Poorvali, Jalil Alamdar Millani and Hojat Mokhtarzadh.  Meanwhile a large number of those detained on April 2, 2011 in Tabriz have been released on bail ranging from approximately $5,000 to $10,000.

On April 2, 2011, civil rights activists gathered in Azerbaijan Tabriz Square to protest bad government policies and the increasing rate by which Lake Urmia has been drying out.  During this demonstration, at least seventy individuals were arrested.

Laleh Hassanpour Arraigned on New Charges in Evin Prison

HRANA- Human rights activist Laleh Hassanpour was summoned by the 3rd Circuit of the Revolutionary Court located in Evin Prison on Wednesday August 18, 2010.

According to HRANA reporters, she was arraigned in court on three new charges without having her lawyer present.Laleh Hassanpour was charged with “insulting the supreme leader”, “insulting the sanctity of Islam”, and “insulting the president”.

An attorney for Laleh Hassanpour tells HRANA that lawyers were not permitted into the courts located in Evin Prison and that they were not present during the proceedings.

Her attorney explained that the prior to the recent charges, Laleh Hassanpour was charged with “acting against national security” for activities related to a campaign against child executions, membership in Human Rights Activists in Iran, and participation in recent unrest.

While in detention, Laleh Hassanpour has been under severe pressure to make a televised confession.

Laleh Hassanpour was arrested on March 16, 2010 at her father’s home in Tehran by Revolutionary Guard intelligence agents and taken to ward 2A in Evin Prison.

Blogger Rojin Mohammadi Under Increasing Pressure in Evin

HRANA News Agency – Imprisoned blogger and medical student, Rojin Mohammadi, is under increasing pressure in Evin Prison.On November 23, 2011, Rojin Mohammadi was arrested after returning to Iran.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Iranian authorities have charged Rojin Mohammadi with the crimes of propaganda against the regime and inciting public opinion by the means of human rights activism.Sources have reported that Rojin Mohammadi has been transferred to Ward 2A in Evin Prison.This ward is under the control of Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (IRGC).
