HRANA News Agency – Transgender prisoners are kept in inhumane conditions, sometimes serving several years in prison, without a phone, fresh air and even a shop in the prison in a situation similar to a solitary confinement in “phase one” of the fourth floor of ward 240 of Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), although some of Iran’s domestic news agencies reports about problems of transgender citizens were published and organizations such as “Welfare Organization”, “Gender Identity Disorder Patient support Association in Iran” and “Mhta – Centre for Iranian Transsexual” work to support them, but the process of arresting and keeping them in inhumane conditions in ward 240 of Evin prison continues. Ali Moezzi Was Poisoned in the Prison
HRANA News Agency – Ali Moezzi, political prisoner of Evin prison who is suffering from bladder cancer, prostate and kidney problems, was poisoned on Wednesday afternoon.

Kamran Morteza’i Released from Prison
HRANA News Agency – Kamran Morteza’i-Farid, a former teacher at the Bahai Open University in Iran, has was released at the end of a five-year sentence for his educational activies on April 24.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), he has served an entire five-year sentence in Raja’i Shahr prison without a day of prison furlough. Mohammad Saber Malek Reisi, A Teenager Who Became Adult in the Prison
HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Saber Malek Reisi, Baloch political prisoner, was arrested at age of 15 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The “juvenile political prisoner” was the title that was used in the news at the time of arrest for him. But he is not a juvenile anymore and is right now in his seventh year of imprisonment in exile, in Ardebil prison. He has been deprived of family visits or contacting them for months and years, and is supposed to spend his younger years behind bars in exile and in the most difficult conditions.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Saber Malek Raisi was arrested at the age of 15 on September 24, 2009, and after enduring one year detention in the Intelligence office in Zahedan and the Central Prison of this city, he was tried by the Revolutionary Court and was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in exile. Mohammad Najafi’s Trial Postponed
HRANA News Agency – The court hearing of Mohammad Najafi, lawyer, was not held due to absence of the judge in the Branch 102 of the Criminal Justice Court in Shandiz, in the Markazi province. Mr. Najafi is charged with “disturbing the public opinion”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Najafi along with his lawyers, Mr. Payam Dorafshan and Arash Keikhosravi, showed up in Branch 102 of the Criminal Justice Court in Shandiz, in the Markazi province, to address the charge of “disturbing the public opinion”, however, because of the absence of the judge, the trial did not take place and the case was postponed indefinitely. Ramadan Ahmad Kamal on the 5th Day of Hunger Strike
HRANA News Agency – The general condition of Ramadan Ahmad Kamal, Syrian political prisoner, is reported critical, on the 5th day of his hunger strike in Rajaei Shahr prison. The prison staff handcuffed him and injected him the serum with force.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ramadan Ahmad Kamal, son of Moslem, Syrian Kurdish prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, who is on his 5th day of hunger strike, passed out due to severe weakness. Afshin Sohrabzadeh Ended his Hunger Strike
HRANA News Agency – Afshin Sohrabzadeh, political prisoner who has been diagnosed with cancer and transferred to Minab prison, had started a hunger strike in response to rejection of his furlough request. He had sewn his lips since April 11. On April 21st, after prison authorities requested him to break his strike and informed him that next month the prosecutor would come to prison for a visit, he ended his strike. Now Minab’s prosecutor will define the faith of this ill political prisoner who is in need of imminent medical treatment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Afshin Sohrabzadeh, political prisoner who has been exiled to Minab prison, is suffering from colon cancer and breathing problems and internal bleeding. He was on the 10th day of his hunger strike when he broke it after prison authorities visited him and asked him to break the strike, and told him that the prosecutor would visit the prison next month and would assess the physician’s request regarding continuation of his medical treatment in a hospital outside of Hormozgan province. Chief of Zabol Prison Broke the only Leg of a War Veteran
HRANA News Agency – The only leg of Hasan Najafi, war veteran and survival of chemical weapons, was broken by the security officer of Zabol prison, for not attending in morning physical training and his hip bone was also damaged.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hasan Najafi, 50, is a chemical weapon survival and veteran who has lost one of his legs in the war. He is kept in prison for financial reasons. He is currently hospitalized because his leg was broken by the security officer of this prison.
