Highest Number of Executions in Recent 10 Years in Iran: UN

HRANA News Agency – Ahmed Shaheed, the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, in his eleventh report to the UN human rights council, announced: “in 2015 Islamic republic of Iran have had the highest number of executions within the past 10 years.”

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 31st session of the UN human rights council meeting, has announced that “the human right organizations that are following the executions in Islamic Republic of Iran, have estimated the number of executions in Iran to have been between 966 to 1054 within 2015, which is the highest number of executions in the past decade.” Continue reading “Highest Number of Executions in Recent 10 Years in Iran: UN”

Afshin Sohrabzadeh Deprived of Medical Furlough

HRANA News Agency – Authorities do not agree with the medical furlough of Afshin Sohrabzadeh, exiled political prisoner in Minab prison who suffers from colon cancer and respiratory problems.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Afshin Sohrabzadeh, political prisoner has asked for medical furlough. He has been suffering from colon cancer and now suffers from respiratory problems and internal bleeding as a result of medical problems and the poor physical condition but the security-judiciary authorities refuse his demand. A Report about Abraham Firuzi, Imprisoned Christian

HRANA News Agency – Abraham Firuzi, a newly converted to Christianity, was sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of evangelism and held in Karaj prison. In the absence of transparency and official information, HRANA publishes the images of the verdict which the Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court issued unlawfully.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Abraham Firuzi has been sentenced to 5 years in prison reportedly because of the peaceful activities of conscience, by virtue of Article 498 of the Penal Code. Hossein Ronaghi Maleki Transferred to the Medical Center

HRANA News Agency – Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, imprisoned in Evin prison was transferred from prison for an examination by an orthopaedist to the hospital and returned to prison after the examination on Wednesday 9 March.
Ahmad Ronaghi Maleki said in an interview with HRANA’s reporter: “Today is Wednesday, Persian date Esfand 19, Hussein was taken to a private orthopaedic specialist clinic due to the vertebrae and the lumbar problem, and was transferred to prison after the examination.” Continue reading “Hossein Ronaghi Maleki Transferred to the Medical Center”

Mahmood Beheshti Visited his Family without Prison Uniform

HRANA News Agency – Mahmood Beheshti Langaroodi, imprisoned teacher and trade unionist, could visit his family without wearing prison uniform. This imprisoned teacher was deprived of visiting for refusing to wear the prison uniform during past weeks.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mr. Beheshti had expressed the reason of his refusal from wearing prison’s uniform, as “preserving his dignity as a human being, teacher and union activist”. HRANA News Agency – In the last report of the UN Secretary General on the situation of human rights in Iran, Islamic republic officials have confirmed the virginity test of Atena Faraghdani and stated that prison authorities performed the test in response to sexual harassment allegations in some websites.

Behnam Ebrahimzadeh Deprived of Medical Furlough

HRANA News Agency – The Court verdict of 7 years, 10 months and 15 days in prison for Behnam (Asad) Ebrahimzadeh, imprisoned labor activists in Rajai Shahr prison, has not been communicated to him in writing yet and his family is trying to get a furlough permission for him.

One of this imprisoned labor activist’s close relatives in an interview told HRANA, Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran: “Mr. Ebrahimzadeh’s family went to see Mr. Hajiloo, at Tehran Prosecutor’s Office, to apply for furlough. They were given a letter addressed to the Central Forensic Office located in St. Somayeh, for confirmation of the disease of Nima Ebrahimzadeh, son of this imprisoned labor activist. The Central Forensic Office referred them to the Forensic Office in West Tehran and then to Imam Khomeini hospital and next Wednesday they will get the result”. ITF Condemns Imprisonment Sentence of Reza Shahabi

HRANA News Agency – The International Transport Workers’ Federation condemned the imprisonment sentence of Reza Shahabi and by describing it as inhuman and illegal, asked for his unconditional release.

Mohammad Saifzadeh Released from Rajaei Shahr Prison of Karaj

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Saifzadeh, imprisoned lawyer and human rights activists, was released from Rajaei Shahr Prison of Karaj after applying integration of sentences and serving his sentence.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mohammad Saifzadeh, member of Human Rights Activists Association, was sentenced to 6 years in prison in two different cases.
