Mehdi Rajabian Transferred to a Hospital on the 12th Day of Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – Mehdi Rajabian, imprisoned artist in Evin prison, was transferred to a hospital following stomach bleeding resulted from hunger strike. In another news, security authorities of this prison, has threatened prisoners on hunger strike and prisoners who signed the letter in support of these prisoners.

Political Prisoners Prevented from Visiting Their Other Imprisoned Family Members

HRANA News Agency – Some of the political prisoners of Rajaei Shahr prison whose wives or other family members are also imprisoned, because of obligatory prison uniform and appearing with handcuffs and shackles, refused to have prisoner visits.

At Least 21 of Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Supporters Remain in Detention

HRANA News Agency – Among detained supporters of Mohammad Ali Taheri in Tehran and Isfahan, at least 21 people are still kept in prison in Tehran (Fashafoyeh), Women’s Prison in Qarchak and Dastgerd prison in Isfahan.

List 5: Male Prisoners Charged with Moharebeh with Sentences under 15 Years

HRANA News Agency – According to the changes related to Moharebeh (waging war against god) in the New Islamic Penal Code, those who have been convicted of Moharebeh based on the previous penal code, will now have the possibility for a retrial, commutation and release. Currently tens of prisoners in Iranian prisons are convicted of Moharebeh for different reasons, this includes at least 22 male prisoners who are sentenced under 15 years of imprisonment. The following is the fifth list published in regards to “Prisoners Convicted of Moharebeh” and is dedicated to this 22 male prisoners.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), there are currently at least twenty two male prisoners in Iranian prisons who have been convicted of Moharebeh for different reasons and have been sentenced under 15 years of imprisonment. Since 2013, According to the changes in regards of Moharebeh in the new Islamic Penal Code, these prisoners could apply for retrial. Many of them could receive commutations and reach their release soon and considering the long prison terms of some of them, it could provide them the possibility of being release. 9 Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike in 3 Different Prisons of Iran

HRANA News Agency – 9 political prisoners in Evin, Tabriz and Rajaei Shahr prisons, are on hunger strike since 5 to 30 days ago. The health condition of some of them have been reported to be very bad. From three political prisoners in Tabriz prison, Rasoul Razavi and Morteza Moradpoor have been transferred to Rajaei Shahr prison. Hossain Alimohammadi who is kept still in central prison of Tabriz. In Evin prison, Vahid Sayadi, Arash Sadeghi, Mehdi and Hossain Rajabian and Ali Shariati are on hunger strike. On the other hand, Mohammadali Taheri’ had been in hunger strike since more than a month ago, but there is no information about him since then.

A Report about Asghar Ghatan’s Health Condition in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Asghar Ghatan has been repeatedly detained and imprisoned due to the political activities since he was 14. The political prisoner is currently held in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj despite illness and repeated confirmation of his inability to endure imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Asghar Ghatan, born in 1954, the last time was arrested by the intelligence forces on January 9, 2011 and after 45 days of interrogations in ward 209, he was released on the bail due to his illness and physical condition and by physician’s recommendation. 2 Prisoners Committed Suicide in Ghezelhesar Prison

HRANA News Agency – On October 26, two prisoners committed suicide in Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj. One of the prisoners died and the other remains in coma. It is said the prisoners who had attempted suicide due to the pressures of the recent mass executions and fear of death.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on October 26, 2016, two death row prisoners in section 2 of hall 2 of Ghezelhesar Prison in Karaj committed suicide, one of whom died and another is hospitalized in coma. Riot Police Attacked the 2nd Day of Peaceful Assembly of Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Supporters

HRANA News Agency – Units of riot police in Tehran attacked the second day of peaceful assembly of Mohammad Ali Taheri’s supporters outside the Baqiatullah Hospital in Tehran and beat them and used tear gas and possibly detained a number of participants, attempting to disperse the demonstrators.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the family, students and supporters of Mohammad Ali Taheri had a peaceful gathering and wanted to meet with him, following unconfirmed news indicating that “Mr. Taheri has gone to coma because of his hunger strike and is admitted at Baqiyatallah Hospital in Vanak”. Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Lawyer ‘Looking Forward to His Freedom.’

HRANA News Agency – Mahmoud Alizadeh Tabatabai, one of the lawyers of Mohammad Ali Taheri, announced that following the announcement on “Prosecution Discontinuance” for his client, he is going to follow Mr. Taheri’s freedom’s process. The lawyer has implicitly confirmed his client’s hunger strike that Mr. Taheri called it “Fasting”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Alizadeh Tabatabai, referring implicitly to his client’s hunger strike said: “(Some days ago) we went to meet him and he was fine. I told him emphatically that the hunger strike would not answer and he said, ‘you suppose I am fasting.’ I did not take hunger strike seriously.
