According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), This political activist is in hunger strike from Friday, November 16, 2012 in protest of his medical leave rejection by prison’s authorities.

Sarah Tavassoli Sentenced to Six Years in Prison and 74 Lashes

HRANA – Dr. Sara Tavassoli was sentenced to six years in prison and 74 lashes for attending Ashura rallies on December 27, 2009, and issuing a statement of sympathy to the Moussavi family.
According to the verdict issued by Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court, with Judge Abbas Pirabbasi presiding, Dr. Sarah Tavassoli has been convicted for her brief appearance in the Ashura demonstrations and also for her presence in the Moussavi household and expressing her condolences for the shooting death of their nephew.
According to Mizan News, Dr. Tavassoli was arrested shortly after the rallies of December 27, 2009, amid post-election protests in Iran.  She was subsequently detained in Section 209 of Evin Prison for 50 days.
Dr. Sarah Tavassoli is a university professor and a faculty member at a prominent university.  She is the daughter of Mohammad Tavassoli, the Chief of Political Bureau and a member of the Central Council of the Freedom Movement of Iran.
Dr. Tavassoli’s husband, Mr. Farid Taheri, was also arrested in the aftermath of Ashura protests and continues to be held under temporary arrest in Section 350 of Evin prison.
According to the sentence issued by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court, Dr. Tavassoli has been sentenced to six years in prison and 74 lashes on charges of “illegal assembly and conspiracy to commit crimes against national security” and “disturbing public order.”

Shadi Sadr and Mahboubeh Abbas-Gholizadeh Sentenced to Imprisonment and Lashes

HRANA – Islamic Revolutionary Court (Branch 26) has sentenced Shadi Sadr to six years in jail and 74 lashes and Mahbubeh Abbas-Gholizadeh to two-and-a-half years in jail and 30 lashes for acting against national security, harming public order, and resisting arrest.

Abolfazl Abedini returned to Evin Prison after outcry

HRANA News Agency – Abolfazl Abedini, an Iranian political prisoner who was exiled to Ahvaz Prison last week, has reportedly been returned to Evin Prison.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Journalist Abolfazl Abedini, who has testified regarding signs of torture on the body of Sattar Beheshti in an investigation into the death of the jailed blogger while in custody of cyber police, had been removed from Evin Prison and transferred to Ahvaz Prison in Southwest Iran.

Abolfazl Abedini exiled back to Ahvaz after testifying about Sattar Beheshti

HRANA News Agency – Journalist Abolfazl Abedini has been exiled back to Ahvaz after testifying about the torture of Sattar Beheshti.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Abedini has been exited from Ward 350 evin to be exiled to Ahvaz prison after  testifying about the torture of Sattar Beheshti. Abedini has said he will begin hunger strike in protest of his exile.

Anisa Fanai’an, Iranian Baha’i citizen was sentenced to prison


HRANA News Agency – Iranian Baha’i citizen Anisa Fanai’an was sentenced to 22 months in prison.
 
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Anisa Fanai’an is Baha’i citizen of Semnan. She was sentenced to four years and four months prison in primary court with charges of propaganda against  the regime and being member of a Baha’i group. But it was reduced to 22 months in the appeals court.
