HRANA News Agency – On Monday, August 1, 2016, 36 death row Sunni prisoners were transferred to solitary confinements while being handcuffed, shackled and blindfolded under tight security measures by unprecedented onslaught of black guards of Rajai Shahr prison. One day later at least 20 of them were executed. Over time, further details of the events of “Black Monday” are being reported from eye witnesses from Rajai Shahr prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), based on additional information obtained from multiple firsthand sources, at 5:30 PM on Monday, August 1, one hundred Special Forces stopped all breaks, at the same time all vacations of prison staff were completely canceled and the prison became at their disposal on the orders of Special Forces Intelligence (or IRGC Intelligence). All the prison staff were summoned to prison. Heads of the wards who finish their job by 3:00 PM on usual days, returned to work on the order of the warden. HRANA News Agency – Nazila Hamidov, Iranian-Azerbaijani citizen, who was arrested in January on charge of “espionage”, is currently being held in the women’s ward of Evin prison. This Christian convert is under temporary custody.

Prison Guard Raids Sunni Prisoners’ Ward in Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – Sunni prisoners of hall 21 in ward 7 of Rajai Shahr prison have gone on hunger strike to protest against the execution of at least 20 Sunni prisoners. In a tense atmosphere in this prison, the prison guards attacked the prisoners and beat them, destructed and seized their property, and threatened them with further executions. Prison officials kept them handcuffed, shackled and blindfolded for nearly 7 hours in the sun and the heat in the prison yard.

HRANA News Agency – At least 20 prisoners were executed last week in Rajaei Shahr prison. Among them Shahram Ahmadi was the most known in the media. 4 Executed Sunni Prisoners Explain Their Cases / Video Footage
HRANA News Agency – At least 20 Sunni prisoners were executed by hanging in Rajaei Shahr prison, all of whom were charged with membership or cooperation with Tohid and Jihad group. These prisoners were arrested about 8 years ago. Jahangir Dehghani, Jamshid Dehghani, Kamal Moulayi and Hamed Ahmadi were four prisoners that had a chance to publish what their case was made of and what they were accused of. HRANA had published this video in 2013, but due to importance of clarification about the process of these cases, we publish this video again.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on August 4, the Intelligence Ministry published a statement about the case that is famous as Tohid and Jihad and by giving some explanations accused them to have ties with terrorist activities. Soliman Pirooti Returned to Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – Soliman Pirooti, Sunni prisoner in Rajai Shahe prison in Karaj who had been taken to the hospital following a heart attack, was returned to the prison on July 28, while the Intelligence Office of Mahabad notified his death in the hospital to his family. His mother and wife are in the hospital after the shock of receiving the false news.

Dozens of Sunni Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj; Additional Information
HRANA News Agency – Lack of transparency of Iranian judiciary has caused a confusion about the fate of death row Sunni prisoners who had been taken to solitary confinements on Monday. In the newest remarks, the Attorney General has declared the number of executed prisoners to be 20. Such a high number of executions is in itself rare.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), after 36 death row Sunni prisoners were taken unexpectedly to solitary confinements of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, the families of at least 21 of them were summoned to the prison for the last visit. However none of them managed to show up in the prison because of long distances and abnormal rush in carrying out the executions.
