2 Sunnis arrested a month ago still have no contact with family

HRANA News Agency – Two Sunni activists who were arrested in Iran a month ago have still not been allowed to contact their families.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 21-year old Mohammad Darabi, the son of the Friday prayer Imam for Rejaw in Kermanshah, northwestern Iran, was active in Sunni religious activities and involved in religious work. Court of Appeals confirms prison sentence for Sunni preacher

HRANA News Agency – The Court of Appeals in Tehran has confirmed the six-year prison sentence for Sunni preacher Foad Rezazadeh just months after he was reportedly tortured by agents from the Ministry of Intelligence in order to force him to sign false ‘confessions’.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Foad Rezazadeh was sentenced to six years imprisonment by judge Mohammad Moghisseh in Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on 8 January 2014. Seven Bahais sentenced to imprisonment in Urmia

HRANA News Agency – The revolutionary court in Urmia, in Iran’s Azerbaijan province, has handed down sentences ranging from six months to six years for seven Bahais.

Shamim Ruhani sentenced to 1 year in prison and exile

HRANA News Agency – Shamim Ruhani, a Bahai from Ahvaz (a city in the delta of the Tigris and Euphrates), has been sentenced to one year in prison followed by banishment from the province of Khuzestan.

Shahram Chiniyan in solitary cell

HRANA News Agency – Shahram Chiniyan Miandavab, a Tehran Bahai serving an 8-year sentence, has been moved to solitary confinement in Raja’i Shahr prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), he had been transferred from block 12 at Raja’i Shahr prison, which holds male prisoners of conscience including many Bahais, to block 1 of the prison, which is reserved for those convicted of serious crimes such as murder, rape and armed robbery on May 28th. Leva Khanjani released from prison

HRANA News Agency – Leva Khanjani, a Bahai excluded from tertiary education, has been freed from Evin prison after serving most of a two-year sentence.
