Amir Chamani’s request for parole was denied

HRANA News Agency – Branch 4 of appeal court of Eastern Azerbaijan denied the request of Amir Chamani, the student activist imprisoned in Tabriz central prison for parole.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Amir Chamani the master student of Azad university of Tabriz has spent already six months of his nine months imprisonment and despite spending more than half of his verdict and asking many times for conditional release, again judge Khoubiar the head of branch 4 of Eastern Azerbaijan provincial appeal court denied Amir’s request. Mohsen Barzegar summoned to prison

HRANA News Agency – Mohsen Barzegar has been summoned to Babol Prison to serve his two-year sentence.  Barzegar is a student activist at Babol Noshiravani University of Technology.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Barzegar was formerly the cultural secretary of the Islamic Association of Students at the univeristy.  He has been sentenced to two years in prison on charges of conspiracy against national security and insulting the Supreme Leader of Iran. Female students banned from engineering fields

HRANA News Agency – New criteria defined for graduate programs ban female students from studying in seven different engineering fields at Isfahan University of Technology.

According to a report by Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), Isfahan University of Technology will no longer admit female students into graduate  programs to study agricultural engineering with a concentration in irrigation, animal science and machinery.  Female students have also been banned from obtaining masters degrees in natural resources engineering with a concentration in watershed and land management as well as desertification.  Furthermore, the university has adopted a policy to admit only male students to study water resources engineering. demonstrations in two universities

HRANA News Agency – The students of Tabriz Azad University and Urmiyeh University protested against changing the schedule of exams.

Peyman Aref has been arrested

HRANA News Agency – The intelligence forces has arrested Peyman Aref in his house on 22nd April. They have also searched the whole house and confiscated his personal properties and threatened his wife.

Peyman Aref has been called to the court

HRANA News Agency – Peyman Aref, the former students’ activist has been summoned by the Tehran court on 10th April.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), according to the letter which he has received, he must go the branch 1172 of Tehran court at 9 o’clock a.m. 10th April. He must be tried for the fifth time because of the complaint of Bahram Reshte Ahmadi the former solicitor-general of Tehran on charge of disturbing the public thoughts through an interview with the Kalame website and his flogging sentence. Amir Chamani returned to prison

HRANA News Agency – Amir Chamani, the students’ activist returned to the Tabriz prison April 19, 2013 to serve rest of his sentence.

 

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Amir Chamani had come for vacation on April 15, 2013. He was arrested in his home on January 13, 2013 and was transferred to the central prison of Tabriz to serve his 9 months sentence of prison after being kept in the intelligence of Tabriz for 2 weeks. One political activist is fired from the university

HRANA News Agency – Mehi Bigdeli, who studies Philosophy and Islamic knowledge masters in the Tehran Science and Research University has been fired after studying for two semesters.

According to a report by the Ruz website, he has been informed about this when he went to the university to start new semester classes through a letter given to him by the university authorities.

He also didn’t get his grades because being a stared student last year.
