Saeid Shirzad Ends Hunger Strike after 39 Days

HRANA News Agency – Saeid Shirzad, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, ended his hunger strike after 39 days, after having a meeting with the authorities and their promises about consideration of his demands. Ali Shariati, another political prisoner who is imprisoned in Evin prison also ended his hunger strike on the 70th day, in response to the requests made by civil rights and political activists.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Saeid Shirzad, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, ended his hunger strike after a meeting with the representative of the prosecutor and prison’s judge supervisor and after they promised to consider his demands. Karen Vafadari and Afarin Neisari Charged in Shahid Moghadas Court of Evin

HRANA News Agency – Karen Vafadari and Afarin Neisari, Zoroastrian Iranian-American couple in the sixth month of their detention were informed of their security charges in Shahid Moghadas Court, in Evin Prison. In addition to “recruiting and introducing spies, and assembly and collusion against national security”, this couple has been charged with “showing and selling art works contrary to Islamic principles” in their gallery.

Atena Daemi Protests Against Summoning Her Family

HRANA News Agency – Atena Daemi, human rights activist and prisoner of women’s ward of Evin prison, carried a dry hunger strike in protest to what she believes to be the fabrication and profiling a case against her family to put more pressure on her, in warden’s office, and demanded a visit with prosecutor of ward 2-A and judiciary, after she was informed that her family were summoned to the court. As a result, she who wanted to communicate her protest, visited the head of prison, but he instead of following up, asked her to get back her compliant against the revolutionary guards with a threatening tone.

A close source to Atena Daemi told to HRANA’s reporter, “After Atena was informed that her family were summoned, she wrote a letter and demanded to visit the representative of the prosecutor of ward 2-A and judiciary. Sohail Arabi Deprived of Proper Medical Treatment in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Sohail Arabi, prisoner of conscience with a sentence of seven years and six months imprisonment, was arrested in December 2013 and is held in ward 350 of Evin prison. This prisoner, whose request for parole and leave have continuously been rejected, despite serious vision problems, has been denied having medical treatment. This denial has created a lot of problems for this prisoner of conscience. It is said that the case officer’s opinion on “no changes in his ideas” is one of the reasons for this exclusion.
A source close to Arabi family, regarding this prisoner of conscience, told HRANA’s reporter: “In addition to continued rejection of his requests for parole and leave so far, for an appointment with the optometrist, more than 10 times he has written letters to the head of the prison, prison clinic and even to the prosecutor, but still the optometrist has not come to visit him and even he has not been sent to medical centers outside the prison”. Jafar Eghdami Deprived of Furlough and Retrial

HRANA News agency – Since two weeks ago, Shahin (Jafar) Eghdami, the prisoner of hall 12 of political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, has avoided to go to cabin visiting hall to protest against the denial of retrial and furlough, as well as problems which have come up for his family during following up the administrative process of these requests.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), a source close to the prisoner, regarding the situation of this political prisoner, told HRANA’s reporter: “According to Article 10 of the new law about waging war, he is not known as combatant anymore and eventually they will charge him only for gathering and colluding and disturbing public order, and they can sentence him to 5 years imprisonment, while he has spent 8 years of imprisonment. A Report about the Bad Condition of Central Prison of Sanandaj

HRANA News Agency – Imposing more limitation by prison authorities of Sanandaj prison, and over population have made the conditions for the prisoners in this prison very hard. Due to over-population, shortage of required facilities, imposing arbitrary limitations by the authorities like cutting the gas, kidney and prostate problems due to bad water condition, lack of proper medical facilities, lack of classification of prisoners, insulting and beating the prisoners, low quality and shortage of prison food are common problem in this prison.

A Report on the Situation of Daneshpour Moghadam Family

HRANA News Agency – Mohsen and Ahmad Daneshpour Moghadam, father and son, along with Motahareh Bahrami and Reihaneh Haj Ebrahim Dabbagh, all members of a family, with Hadi Ghaemi, a family friend, were arrested in 2009 and sentenced to death. Despite the passage of years since the original conviction for Mohsen and Ahmad Daneshpour Moghaddam, and despite their objection, the judiciary refuses to make the final decision under the pretext of “the files are lost”. The physical condition of these two political prisoners, who are deprived of their rights because of remaining undecided, has been reported extremely poor.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohsen and Ahmad Daneshpour Moghaddam, father and son, political prisoners in ward 350 of Evin prison continue to live in uncertainty under the shadow of death for the 7th year.
