Abbas Lisani Put on Trial in Meshgin Shahr

HRANA News Agency – The court hearing of Abbas Lisani, Turk (Azeri) activist from Ardabil and former political prisoner, was held in Branch one of the Revolutionary Court in Meshgin Shahr after changing the location of public and revolutionary courts. Mr. Lisani gave his defense in Turkish, which was accepted, unlike the previous sessions.

4 Turkish Activists Released and Acquitted

HRANA News Agency – On August 14, Meysam Jolani and Tohid Amir Amini were released from Ardabil prison by the end of their sentences, on the other hand Aydin Zakeri and Saeed Babakishizadeh were acquitted from the charges in Meshkinshar court.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on August 14, Meysam Jolani and Tohid Amir Amini, two Turkish (Azari) activists were released from Ardabil prison by the end of their 6-month sentence. (more…)

Aydin Zakeri Arrested in Meshkin Shahr

HRANA News Agency – On the International Mother Language Day, Aydin Zakeri, a civil activist was arrested in Meshkin Shahr by security forces and has been transferred to an unknown location.

Arrested Azeri activists on hunger strike in Meshkin Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – National-Civic Azerbaijani activists, who had been arrested in Sabalan’s hillside and were transferred to Central prison in Meshkin Shahr, went on hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on 14th August, a number of National-Civic activists from Ardabil province had planned to climb Sabalan peak in accordance with their every year trend, but security guards prevented most of them of climbing by blocking Sabalan Sanctuary’s rout. A number of Azeri nationalist-civil activists have been arrested

HRANA News Agency – Many Azeri nationalist-civil activists in Ardabil province, who were planned to climb Sabalan peak, the same as previous years, have been arrested by security and intelligence forces.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), while some nationalist-civil activists of towns and cities in Ardabil province were planned to climb Sabalan peak, like past years, the security and intelligence service forces blocked their way to Sabalan station and prevented them from climbing. Also, they have arrested the activists who could reach to Sabalan station, around 8 pm, on August 11. (more…)
