Additional Information on the Latest Executions in Ghezel Hesar Prison
HRANA News Agency – 11 death row prisoners who had been transferred from different prisons to solitary confinements in Ghezelhesar prison were executed by hanging on July 17. Two of them were executed in public and 9 of these prisoners were executed in Ghezelhesar prison. 7 of them have been identified by HRANA so far.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 11 prisoners from different prisons including 4 from Central Prison of Karaj, 4 from Great Prison of Tehran, 1 from Ghezelhesar prison, 1 from Rajaei Shahr and one female prison from an unknown location had been transferred to solitary confinements of Ghezelhesar prison for execution. 11 Prisoners Executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison
HRANA News Agency – Death sentences of at least 11 prisoners from various prisons who had been transferred to the solitary confinements of Gezelhesar Prison were executed. One of those prisoners was a woman. HRANA has been able to obtain the identities of two of them so far. Two of the detainees were executed separately in the public.

An Interview with the Mother of a Death Row Prisoner
HRANA News Agency – “I am ready to give my life to stop the execution”, this sentence was repeated during the interview many times. “I got 10 years older during past three years, his sister is suffering from depression, everything in life has changed, if my son had died in Halabcheh or died in an accident, it would not be this much painful. Execution is not just a person’s death, it is the death of a family, the death of honor and it makes people shameful”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hadi is one of 100s of prisoners who have been sentenced to death for crimes related to drugs. His sentence has been confirmed in January and was sent to the bureau of execution of sentences. HRANA News Agency – The following video footage shows the last moments of 2 death row prisoners in the public ward of Ghezel Hesar Prison before going to gallows. During the recent one month more than 50 prisoners have been hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
The obvious calmness of the prisoners in this footage is the other face of the social indifference towards the mass and hidden executions. HRANA News Agency – The video footage that you can watch here shows the last farewell of Farzad Tahai and Amin Babai, two prisoners who were executed on June 1st in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. HRANA published this footage to draw the attentions to the matter of death penalty and precisely to the execution of prisoners with drug related charges in Iran.
During the recent months the rate of the mass executions and sometimes public executions has increased although the Iranian officials had told that they were going to consider the matter of eliminating death penalty on drug related charges in a bill in the parliament in April. 12 Prisoners Hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison / One Died of Heart Attack in Solitary Confinement
HRANA News Agency – 12 Prisoners have been hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison of Karaj and one of the death row prisoners died after a heart attack in solitary confinement.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), these 13 prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinements on May 30th. 12 of them were hanged on June 1st but a prisoner identified as Mohammad Mirnejad died after having a heart attack in solitary confinement.
