A Comprehensive Report on the Latest Developments in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – An estimated number of 50 political prisoners held in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj have been transferred to a new and security hall in recent weeks. There are the deprivations which have been imposed on prisoners in this hall where even the toilets are equipped with CCTV cameras. The situation has prompted political prisoners to protest. At least 16 prisoners are on hunger strike in a critical condition.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 53 political-security prisoners detained in hall 12 of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj were transferred to a hall which was previously rebuilt and developed by security forces, with the presence of a large number of prison guards, without prior notice on July 30, 2017. The hall is equipped with a large number of surveillance cameras and surveillance devices, as well as the shields that separate it from the rest of the prison.The families of these prisoners in the wake of their concern about the fate of their relatives, had referred to the judicial authorities who are responsible for this issue but these efforts had not resulted. ITF Condemns Imprisonment Sentence of Reza Shahabi

HRANA News Agency – The International Transport Workers’ Federation condemned the imprisonment sentence of Reza Shahabi and by describing it as inhuman and illegal, asked for his unconditional release.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mac Urata the secretary of domestic transport of ITF said, “It is difficult for most of us to imagine enduring the relentless persecution experienced by Reza Shahabi – inhumane and illegal punishment simply for carrying out lawful trade union activities as guaranteed by universally declared international labour standards”. Reza Shahabi, Kamran Ayazi and Omid Zareinejad Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison

HRANA News Agency – Reza Shahabi, Kamran Ayazi and Omid Zareinejad, who were charged with propaganda against the regime, have been sentenced to accumulation of 18 months in prison following the events that are known as black Thursday.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in a court session held on branch number 26 of revolutionary court for three beaten prisoners in “black Thursday” on Saturday March 7, Reza Shahabi was sentenced to one year and Kamran Ayazi and Omid Zaresi Alinejad sentenced to 91 days in prison. 3 Political Prisoners Tried in Tehran Revolutionary Court

HRANA News Agency – Reza Shahabi, Kamran Ayazi and Omid Zareinejad, were tried for charge of propaganda against the regime which was alleged to them after the events on 17th April (Guards’ riot to ward 350) at branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on 15th February, a trial was held for accusation of propaganda against the regime, against Reza Shahabi, Kamran Ayazi and Omid Zareinejad, at branch 26 of Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Ahmadzadeh. Labor activist Reza Shahabi awaits surgery

HRANA News Agency – Labor activist Reza Shahabi awaits surgery while recovering from his prolonged hunger strike. Reza Shahabi is the board member of SWTSBC, the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company.

On Saturday, July 12, 2014, Shahabi was transferred from Rejai Shahr Prison to Imam Khomeini Hospital. Since then he has been waiting to regain his physical strength to undergo surgery. “The surgeon has postponed the operation until Reza is strong enough,” a family member says.

The Appeals Court has sentenced Shahabi to serve four years in prison. He has been banned from participating in labor organizations for five years and fined approximately $3,000.

HRANA News Agency – RezaShahabi, imprisoned labor activist continues hunger strike in Imam Khomeini Hospital.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Reza Shahabi Zakaria, labor activist and political prisoner, was transferred from Evin prison ward 350 to Rajai Shahr prison on Sunday, 1st July. Reza Shahabi transferred to Imam Khomeini Hospital

HRANA News Agency- Reza Shahabi a Workers’ Rights activist who is on hunger strike since 41 days ago, transferred to Imam Khomeini Hospital. Government officials have not yet allowed his family to visit him.

HRANA News Agency – Reza Shahabi was transferred to the clinic of prison due to his physical deterioration.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Reza Shahbi Zakari, the labour activist and political prisoner had been transferred from Evin to Rajai Shahr prison, on Sunday June 1st.
