Arash Sadeghi and Golrokh Irai Prevented from Meeting Each Other

HRANA News Agency – Arash Sadeghi, prisoner of ward number 350, and Golrokh Irai prisoner of women’s ward in Evin prison are banned from monthly visits based on an arbitrary order of the prosecutor. This ban is applied while Arash Sadeghi is suffering from different diseases following a long term hunger strike, and is still denied by Sarallah corps of revolutionary guards from being transferred to hospital. This illegal deprivation has raised concerns about the health condition of Arash Sadeghi.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Arash Sadeghi, civil rights activist who is imprisoned in ward 350 of Evin prison and his wife, Golrokh Irai are deprived from visiting each other by prosecutor’s order, since the arrest of Ms. Irai on December 23. Monthly Report – An Overview of the Human Rights Situation in Iran for Dey 1395 Iranian Calendar (21 Dec 2016 – 19 Jan 2017)

HRANA News Agency – The Department of Statistics and Publications of the Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRAI) has published the following monthly report for the Iranian calendar Month of Dey (21st Dec-19th Jan) on the human rights situation in Iran. This report cannot perfectly and comprehensively reflect the details of human rights concerns in Iran due to the limitation and bans on independent human rights organizations and their activities in Iran.

It should be noted that in addition to the monthly reports, the Department of Statistics and Publication of the Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRAI) publishes a comprehensive and analytical annual report at the end of each calendar year. Osman Mostafapour; 27 Years Imprisonment without Furlough

HRANA News Agency – Osman Mostafapour, political prisoner in Urmia prison has begun the 27th year of his imprisonment without furlough. In 1994, He was sentenced to a total of 35 years in prison in two separate cases.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Osman Mostafapour, born in 1967, was arrested on July 14, 1991. He was sentenced to death on charge of murder by branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Urmia by Judge Javaheri. The sentence was commuted to 10 years imprisonment in 2000. Marjan Davari’s Lawyers Appealed against the Her Death Sentence

HRANA News Agency – One of the lawyers of Marjan Davari, researcher and translator on death row told, “we have objected the verdict but the court has not set a branch.” Marjan Davari, 50, after being transferred from women’s ward of Evin prison to the prison in Rey (Qarchak Women’s Prison) in February, was sentenced to death. One of the charges against Ms. Davari is membership in the emerging movement of “Eckankar”.

4 Activists Transferred to Women’s Ward of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Tahereh Riyahi, Masoumeh Zia, Mahsa Raj`ati, and Mehrak Karimpoor are four civil rights activists who were mainly active in the field of news coverage, and were arrested in late December and early January. They were transferred to general female ward after more than two months, from solitary confinement of ward 209.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mahsa Ra`ati, 36, was arrested on January 2, Tahereh Riyahi, 35, journalist and editor of Borna press was arrested on January 4, Masoumeh (Pegah) Zia, 39, was arrested on January 4 and Mehrak Karimpoor Andalibi, 24, was arrested on December 27. Deprivation of Education for Afrooz Zabihi, a Baha’i Student in Her Fifth Semester

HRANA News Agency – Fifth Term Civil Engineering student from Shahid Beheshti University, Baha’i Afrooz Zabihi, was banned from continuing her education after completing 90 credit hours, because of her religious faith. Miss Zabihi has several achievements in the Shining Genius Test in her name.

According to HRANA, a close source to Miss Zabihi said “on Dec. 19, 2016, at the same time as the publication of the President’s Bill of Rights and the beginning of final exams, she was contacted on behalf of the Education Officer of the college. Moreover, she was verbally notified that her general educational qualifications had not been confirmed, and therefore she would be prevented from continuing her education. She was expelled on the same day, and all her courses in the current term were eliminated.
