HRANA News Agency – Abbas Lesani was was arrested and transferred to prison in Meshkinshar after showing up in the court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on November 7, 2016, Abbas Lesani, Turkish (Azeri) activist in Ardebil, was charged at the first branch of the court of Ardebil and because of not providing the bail of 1 billion IRR, was arrested and taken to the prison in Meshkinshar. HRANA News Agency – 9 political prisoners in Evin, Tabriz and Rajaei Shahr prisons, are on hunger strike since 5 to 30 days ago. The health condition of some of them have been reported to be very bad. From three political prisoners in Tabriz prison, Rasoul Razavi and Morteza Moradpoor have been transferred to Rajaei Shahr prison. Hossain Alimohammadi who is kept still in central prison of Tabriz. In Evin prison, Vahid Sayadi, Arash Sadeghi, Mehdi and Hossain Rajabian and Ali Shariati are on hunger strike. On the other hand, Mohammadali Taheri’ had been in hunger strike since more than a month ago, but there is no information about him since then.

HRANA News Agency – On October 29, four Arab civilians from Ahvaz including three brothers who had been previously detained by security forces, were released on the bail temporarily until their trial.

HRANA News Agency – After the “Black Monday” in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj when by transferring 37 Sunni prisoners under tight security measurements to solitary confinement, at least 20 of them were executed, reportedly the execution of three Sunni prisoners have been canceled and they were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

HRANA News Agency – Asghar Ghatan has been repeatedly detained and imprisoned due to the political activities since he was 14. The political prisoner is currently held in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj despite illness and repeated confirmation of his inability to endure imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Asghar Ghatan, born in 1954, the last time was arrested by the intelligence forces on January 9, 2011 and after 45 days of interrogations in ward 209, he was released on the bail due to his illness and physical condition and by physician’s recommendation. HRANA News Agency – With authentication of the identity of another inmate who was executed at Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj, the number of victims rose to 12. Lack of communication with other prisoners and families of prisoners and holding him in the ward of prisoners with mental problems, is one of the reasons for the delay in identifying the prisoner who was executed.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), with authentication of the identity of a prisoner who was executed, the number of executed prisoners on Wednesday, October 19 in Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj rose to 12 prisoners. This is while the judiciary and parliament members have continuously talked about their plans for reduction of execution for prisoners with drug related charges.
