Report on the Execution of Three Prisoners, Including a Woman, in Mahabad Prison

HRANA – The death sentences of three prisoners, including one woman, who had previously been convicted on charges related to drug offenses and murder, were carried out in Mahabad Prison between September 21 and October 15.

HRANA has confirmed the identities of these prisoners as Mehran Hagh-Panah, Dima Faramarzi, and Kaviar Khediripour.

Based on information received by HRANA, the execution of Mehran Hagh-Panah, a resident of Tabriz, was carried out on October 15. He had been arrested on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.
The execution of Ms. Faramarzi, who had previously been sentenced to death for the murder of her husband’s father, was carried out on Tuesday, September 30. Kaviar Khediripour, who had also been sentenced to death for murder, was executed on September 21.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been announced by prison officials or relevant authorities.

In 2024, according to 812 reports compiled by HRANA, the Iranian regime executed 930 individuals in its prisons, marking the highest number of executions in the past 12 years. Despite the scale of these executions, prison officials and other relevant authorities publicly acknowledged only 6% of them, highlighting the regime’s lack of transparency and accountability.

Execution of 24 Prisoners in Various Prisons Across Iran in Recent Days

HRANA – Amid an unprecedented surge in executions in recent months, HRANA and Iran Human Rights have reported the execution of dozens of prisoners in multiple prisons across Iran in recent days.

According to HRANA, on Sunday, November 9, a prisoner named Allahkaram Nazari was executed on murder charges in Dezful Prison. On the same day, Dariush Amini in Ilam Prison and Seyed Mohammad Haeri in Saveh Prison were also executed on murder charges.
Iran Human Rights additionally reported that Hassan Hajizadeh, 30, from Semnan, was executed in Semnan Prison. Hajizadeh had been arrested a year earlier on charges of possessing three kilograms of narcotics and later sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

On Monday, November 10, HRANA reported the execution of Shahab Nazemi in Bojnourd Prison and two prisoners in Qazvin Prison, one of whom has been identified only as Shahriar, all on drug-related charges. On the same day, a prisoner identified as Ghasemi (first name unknown) was executed in Damghan Prison, Behzad Zeidi in Zanjan Prison, Noushad Mousavi on murder charges in Chabahar Prison, and Milad Nemati on murder charges in Jiroft Prison.
Iran Human Rights also reported the execution of Abdolrahman Mehrbani, 57, in Gorgan Prison, on murder charges. Mehrbani had been arrested about six years ago for murder during a dispute over farmland and was later sentenced to death.

On Tuesday, November 11, Shahin Saleh was executed in Birjand Prison on murder charges, Khodayar Joghtai in Sabzevar Prison (charges unknown), Omid Beqlani in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz, on murder charges, Mostafa Al-Khamis on murder charges in Bushehr Prison, Kaka Morad Panahi on drug-related charges in Kashmar Prison, and Arash Karimi on drug-related charges in Ardabil Prison.
Iran Human Rights also reported that Vahid Fazeli, 42, was executed in Lakan Prison, Rasht, on murder charges.

On Wednesday, November 12, HRANA reported the execution of Mehdi Moridi in Aligudarz Prison and Nezam Saeedi in Kerman Prison, both on murder charges.
Iran Human Rights also confirmed the execution of Saeed Mokhtari, 35, from Jahrom, and Shahrokh Mostafavi, 40, a father of one from Karaj, in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan, both on drug-related charges.

Finally, on Thursday, a prisoner named Ali Safa Niazi was executed in Shahrekord Prison on murder charges.

As of the time of this report, the executions of these prisoners have not yet been announced by prison officials or judicial authorities.

Four Prisoners Executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj

HRANA – Today, November 12, four prisoners previously sentenced to death on murder charges were executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

According to HRANA, the executions took place early this morning. The prisoners had been arrested on murder charges and later sentenced to death by the Criminal Court. Further details, including the identities of those executed, are still under investigation by HRANA.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant government institutions.

According to HRANA’s statistics, Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj carried out the highest number of executions among all Iranian prisons, with 150 inmates hanged. This figure has nearly doubled compared to the previous year, a deeply alarming increase that underscores the escalating use of capital punishment in Iran.

Three Prisoners Executed in Yazd Prison

HRANA – At dawn today, November 11, three prisoners were executed in Yazd Prison. They had previously been sentenced to death on murder and drug-related charges.

According to HRANA, the execution sentences of these individuals were carried out early Tuesday morning. HRANA has identified one of them, Shah Hossein Farhadi, who had been convicted of murder.

Based on information obtained by HRANA, the other two executed prisoners had been sentenced to death by Revolutionary Courts on drug-related charges.

Further details, including the identities of the second and third executed prisoners, are still under investigation by HRANA.

Report on the Execution of Ten Prisoners in Various Prisons

HRANA- In continuation of the unprecedented surge in executions across Iran, over the past two days HRANA has documented the execution of ten more prisoners in different prisons throughout the country.

On Sunday, two prisoners were hanged in Khaf Prison, Razavi Khorasan province. HRANA has identified one of them as Farid Emami. Both individuals had previously been arrested on murder charges and later sentenced to death by the criminal court. Further details, including the identity of the other executed prisoner, are still under investigation by HRANA.

That same day, another prisoner named Mohammad Goudarzi was executed in Borujerd Prison on a murder charge.

HRANA also reported the execution of Moradbeig Turki in Kashan Prison. Mr. Turki had likewise been arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death by the criminal court.

Additionally, Nima Omidi Khas was hanged the same day in Bam Prison. Mr. Omidi Khas had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

On Monday, November 10, Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan witnessed the execution of two prisoners convicted on drug-related charges. HRANA has identified one of them as Saeed Shateri.

Also on Monday, an unidentified prisoner was executed in Neyshabur Prison on murder charges.
That same day, Javad Naeimi was executed in Semnan Prison; he had been convicted of murder.
Finally, on Monday, Nourkhoda Ahmadi was executed in Birjand Prison on drug-related charges.

Execution of Five Prisoners in Birjand and Maragheh Prisons

HRANA – Over the past three days, the death sentences of at least five prisoners were carried out in the prisons of Maragheh and Birjand. These prisoners had previously been sentenced to death on charges including murder and drug-related offenses.

According to Iran Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, November 9, 2025, the death sentence of one prisoner was carried out in Maragheh Prison. The prisoner has been identified as Arzhang Nabavi, 49 years old, a native of Zanjan and resident of Maragheh.

According to the report, “Mr. Nabavi was involved in a dispute during a property transaction four years ago and was accused of fatally stabbing the other party during the altercation.”

According to Haal Vsh, on Monday, November 10, 2025, at least four prisoners were executed in Birjand Prison.

One of the executed prisoners has been identified as Abdolkarim Sasouli, approximately 60 years old, father of seven, and a resident of Zabol. Mr. Sasouli was arrested about three years ago in Birjand County on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Birjand Revolutionary Court.

According to the report, Mr. Sasouli was executed without prior notice to his family and without a final visit.

Haal Vsh did not provide the names or details of the other three prisoners executed in Birjand.

Seventeen Prisoners Executed in Various Prisons

HRANA – In the continuing surge of executions across Iran, dozens of prisoners have been executed in various prisons in recent days.

According to HRANA, on Wednesday, November 5, a prisoner named Kiumars Gholami was executed in Gorgan Prison. Mr. Gholami had previously been arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death by a criminal court.

On Saturday, November 8, eight prisoners were executed in several prisons across the country:

In Khorramabad Prison, Yazdan Chegini was executed on murder charges.

Two prisoners were hanged in Kermanshah Prison on murder charges; HRANA has identified one of them as Yaroli Hajizadeh.

In Yasuj Prison, Peyman Ghasemi was executed for murder.

Tabriz Prison saw the execution of three prisoners, Omid Feyzi, Zahra Mirghafari (female), and Ehsan Amini, on drug-related charges.

In Nahavand Prison, Vali Karam-Dastar was executed for murder.

On Sunday, November 9, the wave of executions continued with more prisoners executed in different prisons across Iran:

Hamid Naderi in Andimeshk Prison for murder;

Mehran Hosseinpanah and Ahmad Sajjadi in Arak Prison on drug-related charges;

Abdollah Tajik and an Afghan national in Taybad Prison, both on drug-related charges;

Habib Namazi in Karaj Central Penitentiary for murder;

Two prisoners in Qom Prison on drug-related charges, one of whom HRANA identified only by the surname Beiranvand.

And lastly, today, November 10, Abbas Souri in Dorud Prison was executed on murder charges.

As of the time of this report, none of these executions have been announced by prison officials or relevant authorities.

Three Prisoners Executed in Urmia Prison

HRANA – At dawn on Sunday, November 9, the death sentences of three prisoners previously convicted on drug-related charges were carried out in Urmia Prison.

HRANA has confirmed the identities of the executed prisoners as Reza Molaei, Mohammadreza Badavi, and Mehdi Jafarzadeh.

Based on information obtained by HRANA, these individuals had been arrested on charges related to drug offenses and later sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. They were transferred to solitary confinement on Saturday evening, November 8, in preparation for the execution.

As of the time of this report, prison authorities and official institutions have not announced the execution of these prisoners.

From the beginning of this year until the end of October, the Iranian regime has executed 1,286 people, marking an unprecedented increase compared to previous years.

According to HRANA’s report, in 2024, over 52 percent of executed prisoners had been convicted on drug-related charges. Over the past ten years, individuals convicted of drug trafficking have accounted for 40 percent of all executions. Unfortunately, HRANA’s statistics show no progress in reducing executions for drug-related offenses.

Supreme Court Upholds Death Sentence of Political Prisoner Reza Abdali

HRANA – The death sentence and prison term of Reza Abdali, a political prisoner held in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, have been upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court, the country’s highest judicial authority.

Abdali had previously been sentenced to death and 15 years in prison by the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court on the charge of “enmity against God” (moharebeh).

According to information obtained by HRANA, the Supreme Court recently confirmed and notified Abdali’s verdict. He had been convicted in June-July 2025 by one of the branches of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court on charges of moharebeh, with “connection with the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK)” cited as an instance of the accusation.

Reza Abdali, aged 35 and a resident of Ahvaz, is currently held in Ward 8 of Sheiban Prison.

He was arrested in February 2025 (Bahman 1403) by security forces, and after interrogation, was transferred to Sheiban Prison. During his detention, he has been denied access to a lawyer of his choice.

Drug-Related Crimes; One Prisoner Executed in Urmia Prison

HRANA – At dawn on Friday, November 7, 2025 , the execution of a prisoner previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges was carried out in Urmia Prison.

According to reports received by HRANA, the identity of the executed prisoner has been confirmed as Shams al-Din Abbasi Kay, a resident of Urmia. He had earlier been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

As of the time of this report, the execution has not been officially announced by prison authorities or other relevant institutions.
