Sakhi Rigi on the Verge of His 9th Year in Prison

HRANA News Agency – Sakhi Rigi, Baluch blogger and political activist who has been exiled to Ahvaz Prison, is on the verge of his 9th year in prison. He has been sentenced to 20 years in prison on charge of spreading lies and acts against the national security in 2009. This sentence is one of the heaviest sentences that has been issued for bloggers in Iran.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Sakhi Rigi was arrested on June 18, 2009 in Zahedan when he was 31 years old. He was tried with allegations like spreading lies and acting against the national security but the details of the court session have never been published. Sediq Eini Exiled to Ardebil Prison

HRANA News Agency – A prisoner named Sediq Eini, who had been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on charges of espionage through cooperation with a Kurdish opposition to the regime, by the Military Court of Ormieh, was exiled to Ardebil Prison, after his verdict was verified by the Supreme Court.

Saman Nasim’s Death Sentence Commuted to 5 Years of Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – The death sentence of Saman Nasim, political prisoner who was arrested at the age of 16 and sentenced to death in a judicial process full of ambiguity, has been reduced to 5 years of imprisonment after years of legal follow up. Considering the time of Mr. Nasim’s imprisonment, his lawyer says, this prisoner will be released soon.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Saman Nasim was finally sentenced to five years imprisonment solely on charge of membership in a political opposition party (PJAK), and was acquitted of “Moharebeh” and armed action charges. Kawan Mahmoudian Sentenced to 1 Year of Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – Kawan Mahmoudian who had been arrested by the intelligence agents in Kamyaran and transferred to Sanandaj prison after being detained in solitary confinement for two months, was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment on charge of “acting against national security through cooperating with a Kurdish opposition party” by the Revolutionary Court.

Number of Arrested Arab Activists Increased to at Least 15 People

HRANA News Agency – In a new wave of arresting Arab citizens from Ahwaz, five others were arrested by security agencies. These individuals whose number reached to more than 15 people, are all accused of participation in protests against various issues, including discrimination in employment, conflict in the village of Jalizi, pumping away Karoon’s water and the drying of wetlands and rivers.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), arresting and summoning protesters have been increasing since December 8, 2017 as the result of protests against the region’s problems, including discrimination in employment, the drying of wetlands and the conflict in the village of Jalizi. At Least 10 Arab Activists Arrested in Ahvaz

HRANA News Agency – In the wake of the arrest of Arab citizens from Ahwaz, five others were arrested by security agencies. Kavan Mahmoudian and Na’im Ahmadpour Transferred to Sanandaj Prison

HRANA News Agency – Kavan Mahmoudian who had been arrested by Kamiaran Intelligence Office earlier on October 10, was transferred to Sanandaj Prison after being detained in a solitary confinement for two months, while another prisoner named Na’im Ahmadpour who had been arrested for unknown reasons by the Intelligence Office was also transferred to Sanandaj Prison after 20 days of detention at the Intelligence Office detention center.
