At Least Three Prisoners Executed in Zahedan Prison

HRANA – On Wednesday, June 17, authorities at Zahedan Prison carried out the executions of three prisoners on drug-related charges.

According to a report by HRANA, citing Haal Vsh, at least three prisoners were executed in Zahedan Prison on Wednesday, June 17.

Haalvsh identified two of those executed as Abdullah Jalali, a 25-year-old Afghan national and father of two, and Zaher Shahouzahi (Gorgij), a 40-year-old married man, father of three, and a resident of Zahedan. Jalali had been arrested approximately four years ago, and Shahouzahi around three years ago, on drug-related charges in Zahedan. They were subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of the city.

The report also states that another prisoner was executed in the same prison on non-political charges. As of the time of writing, the identity of this prisoner has not been confirmed.

At the time of publication, prison authorities and relevant institutions had not officially announced these executions.

According to HRA’s Annual Report, in 2025 at least 2,063 citizens, including 61 women and 2 juvenile offenders, were executed. Of these, the sentences of 11 individuals were carried out in public. During the same period, 172 other individuals were sentenced to death.

Eight Prisoners Executed in Yazd Prison

HRANA – Yesterday, June 17, 2026, the death sentences of eight prisoners convicted on non-political charges were carried out in Yazd Prison.

According to Rasank, two of those executed have been identified as Omar Shahbakhsh, approximately 24 years old and a native of Zahedan, and Ghafour Shahbakhsh, approximately 25 years old, married and the father of one child, also from Zahedan.

The two prisoners had been arrested several years ago in Yazd in a joint case involving drug-related offenses and were subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of the city.

Additionally, Haalvsh reported the execution of six other prisoners in the same prison on non-political charges. The report did not provide their identities or details regarding their cases.

As of the time of writing, the executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or the relevant government institutions.

January 2026 Protests: Javad Zamani and Abolfazl Saedi Executed

HRANA – The Chief Justice of Semnan Province announced the execution of Javad Zamani and Abolfazl Saedi, both arrested during the January 2026 protests in Shahrud County. At the same time, the Judiciary Media Center published a video containing the forced confessions of the two protesters. Iran’s judicial authorities had sentenced them to death on charges including moharebeh (“enmity against God”) and “spreading corruption on earth.” The sentences were ultimately carried out this morning.

According to HRANA, citing Mizan News Agency, the Chief Justice of Semnan Province announced that the death sentences of Javad Zamani and Abolfazl Saedi were carried out at dawn today.

According to Mohammad Sadegh Akbari, the two men had been prosecuted in a case related to the January 2026 protests in Shahrud County. The judiciary of the Islamic Republic found them guilty of charges including “moharebeh through carrying a weapon,” “spreading corruption on earth,” “assembly and collusion against national security,” “disrupting public order and security,” and “destroying and setting fire to public and private property.”

The Chief Justice of Semnan Province claimed that the two individuals had participated in violent acts and the destruction of public property during the protests. He further stated that Branch One of the Shahrud Revolutionary Court had sentenced both defendants to death and ordered the confiscation of their assets.

According to the report, the verdict was upheld following an appeal by a branch of the Supreme Court, and was ultimately carried out today, June 16, 2026.

At the same time, the Judiciary Media Center released a video containing the forced confessions of the two protesters. In the video, which was recorded under unspecified circumstances before their execution, the two young protesters expressed remorse for their actions.

Judicial authorities have not released details regarding the exact date of their arrest, the legal proceedings, their access to a lawyer of their choosing, or the defense arguments presented on their behalf. Further information regarding the handling of the case and the evidence supporting the charges remains unavailable.

It should be noted that protests and strikes by shopkeepers and bazaar merchants began in Tehran on Sunday, December 28, 2025, and within two days spread beyond markets and commercial centers. With the participation of students, citizens, and various social groups, these protests became one of the largest protest movements of recent years. Following the crackdown by security and law enforcement forces, thousands were killed or injured, and tens of thousands were arrested or summoned by security agencies. It is worth noting that a new report by Spreading Justice indicates that political and security-related executions in Iran have entered an unprecedented phase following the nationwide protests of January 2026. According to the report’s findings, at least 40 individuals were executed between March 19, 2026, and June 3, 2026, following proceedings described as lacking the standards of a fair trial. According to the report’s authors, this trend has been accompanied by the direct involvement of a number of judges as well as security and judicial institutions in the country.

Three Prisoners Executed in Isfahan Prison

HRANA – On June 15, authorities at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan executed three prisoners on charges of murder and drug-related offenses.

HRANA has identified one of the prisoners as Mohammadreza Gashoul. According to information received by HRANA, he had previously been arrested on a murder charge and was sentenced to death by a criminal court.

The Iran Human Rights Organization has identified the other two prisoners as Fariborz Jafari, 27, from Khomeyni Shahr, and Hamidreza Afsharipour, 51, from Fuman and the father of three children.

According to the report, Fariborz Jafari had previously been arrested on a murder charge and was sentenced to death by the judicial authorities. He was being held in Ward 4 of Dastgerd Prison and had previously been incarcerated in Najafabad Prison. Hamidreza Afsharipour had been arrested approximately two years ago on drug-related charges and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial authorities.

As of the time of this report, prison officials and the relevant authorities had not publicly announced the executions.

Eight Prisoners Executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj

HRANA – On Saturday, June 13, Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj witnessed the execution of eight prisoners. HRANA has confirmed the identities of two of those executed, both of whom had previously been sentenced to death on murder charges.

On Saturday, June 13, authorities at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj carried out the executions of eight prisoners. HRANA has identified two of them as Seyed Akbar Banihashem and Amirabbas Dekavand. Both prisoners had been sentenced to death on charges of murder. HRANA is continuing to investigate and verify the identities of the other six prisoners.

As of the time of this report, prison authorities and the relevant institutions have not publicly announced the executions of these prisoners.

Six Prisoners Executed in Multiple Iranian Prisons

HRANA – The death sentences of four prisoners were carried out in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz, Khorramabad Prison, and Shirvan Prison. In addition, following the identification of two other prisoners, the number of people executed on Tuesday in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan and Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah has risen to four. These prisoners had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases on charges related to drug offenses and murder.

According to a report by the Iran Human Rights Organization, two prisoners were executed at dawn on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

They were identified as Farhad Minaei, 40, from Borujerd, and Hossein Salehpour, from Shiraz.

According to the report, Mr. Salehpour had been arrested approximately four years ago, and Mr. Minaei about two years ago, in separate cases involving drug-related charges. They were subsequently sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

The report also states that the death sentence of another prisoner was carried out on June 1, 2026, in Shirvan Prison.

The prisoner was identified as Keramat Mansouri, 53, a father of four from Baghan village in Shirvan County.

According to the report, he had been arrested about five years ago on murder charges and was later sentenced to death by a judicial authority.

Number of Executions in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan, Rises to Two

According to Iran Human Rights, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, a prisoner identified as Reza Ghanbarlou, 45, from Rasht and the father of two children, was executed in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.

The report states that Mr. Ghanbarlou had been arrested approximately five years ago on drug-related charges and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

HRANA had previously reported the execution of another prisoner, Rashid Ghanbarzehi, in the same prison on the same date.

Number of Executions in Dizelabad Prison, Kermanshah, Reaches Two

According to another report from Iran Human Rights, Dariush Ghobadi was executed at dawn on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah.

Ghobadi had been accused of murdering four members of his family and one of his friends on October 17, 2023. He was subsequently sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

The execution of Abbas Zarei in the same prison on the same date had previously been reported.

Execution of a Prisoner in Khorramabad

According to Iran Human Rights, a prisoner was executed in Khorramabad Prison on May 14, 2026.

The prisoner was identified as Ahmadreza Torabi, 32, from Khorramabad.

According to the report, Mr. Torabi had been arrested approximately five years ago on a murder charge stemming from a street altercation and was later sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

At the time of writing this report, the executions of these prisoners had not been officially announced by prison authorities or the relevant responsible institutions.

According to HRA’s annual report, in 2025, there were reports of delayed or unpaid wages amounting to at least 638 months across 182 industrial and service units, 2,458 cases of dismissals or layoffs and 3,761 workers left in uncertain employment conditions.

Prisoner Executed in Kermanshah Prison

HRANA  – At dawn on Tuesday, June 9, a prisoner who had previously been sentenced to death on a murder charge was executed in Kermanshah Prison.

According to a report by Kurdpa, a prisoner was executed in Kermanshah Prison. The identity of the prisoner, who was hanged at dawn on Tuesday, June 9, has been reported as Abbas Zarei, a 40-year-old married man, father of one child, and a resident of the village of Sarin in the Firouzabad District of Kermanshah County.

According to the report, Mr. Zarei had been charged with a murder that occurred eight years ago. He was arrested in 2024 and was subsequently sentenced to death by a criminal court.

As of the time of writing, prison authorities and the relevant official bodies have not publicly announced the execution of this prisoner.

2026 Protests: Alireza Peighambari Sentenced to Death

HRANA  – Alireza Peighambari, a 26-year-old man detained during the nationwide protests of January 2026, has been sentenced to death by Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on the charge of moharebeh (“enmity against God”). Peighambari, who is currently held in Greater Tehran Penitentiary, is awaiting the outcome of a review by Branch 9 of the Supreme Court.

According to HRANA, Alireza Peighambari, one of the individuals arrested during the January nationwide protests, has been sentenced to death.

Based on information received by HRANA, Mr. Peighambari, 26, was sentenced to death by Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on the charge of moharebeh. His case is currently being reviewed by Branch 9 of the Supreme Court.

Alireza Peighambari was arrested by security forces on January 9, 2026, during the nationwide protests. He was subsequently released on bail in March-April 2026.

The defendant was first tried before Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court in May 2026.

A second hearing on the charges against Mr. Peighambari was then held in early June 2026 before the same branch. Following the conclusion of the hearing, he was taken into custody and transferred to Greater Tehran Penitentiary.

A source familiar with the matter confirmed the news to HRANA and stated: “Alireza did not participate in the protest gatherings. In fact, after leaving his workplace, he arrived in the area during the commotion caused by the protests and unintentionally found himself caught in the crowd.”

Report on the Execution of Six Prisoners in Various Prisons

HRANA – The death sentences of six prisoners previously convicted on drug-related offenses and murder charges have been carried out in the prisons of Khorramabad, Lakan (Rasht), and Dastgerd (Isfahan).

According to HRANA, citing the Iran Human Rights, a prisoner was executed at dawn on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Lakan Prison in Rasht. The prisoner has been identified as Siavash Afrashteh, a 27-year-old resident of Rasht.

According to the report, Mr. Afrashteh was arrested approximately three years ago on drug-related charges and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

In a separate report, four prisoners were executed in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.

The prisoners have been identified as Mohammad-Ghasem Abdevand, 33; Rahim Ghanbari, 38, both from Masjed Soleyman; Farrokh Amjadi, 46, from Khomeinishahr and the father of two children; and Reza Pedram Asivand, 31, from Junaqan County.

According to the report, dated June 3, 2026, the executions of Abdevand, Ghanbari, and Amjadi were carried out. Abdevand and Ghanbari had been arrested approximately two years earlier in a joint case, while Amjadi had been arrested about four years ago, all on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by judicial authorities. On May 5, 2026, Reza Pedram Asivand was also executed in the same prison after previously being arrested and sentenced to death on similar charges.

In another report, at dawn on Saturday, June 6, 2026, a prisoner identified as Noormorad Fallahnejad, a father of three from Khorramabad, was executed in the city’s prison.

The report states that Mr. Fallahnejad had been arrested approximately four years and eight months ago on a murder charge and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time of publication, the executions of these prisoners had not been officially announced by prison authorities or the relevant state institutions.

Inmate Executed in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz

HRANA – At dawn on Saturday, June 6, 2026, the death sentence of an inmate previously convicted of murder was carried out in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz.

According to HRANA, at dawn on Saturday, June 6, 2026, an inmate was executed in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Mohammad Abiyat, 27 years old.

According to information received by HRANA, Mr. Abiyat was arrested approximately three years ago following a dispute and altercation that resulted in a fatality. He was subsequently sentenced to death by a criminal court, and the sentence was later upheld by the Supreme Court.
