HRANA News Agency – The sentences of four civil rights activist, Atena Daemi, Omid Alishenas, Aso Rostami and Ali Nouri were reduced at branch 36 of appeal court from 14, 10, 7 and 7 to 7, 7, 2 and 2 years of imprisonment.

The List of Male Prisoners Charged with Muharebeh and Sentenced to between 15 to 20 Years in Prison
HRANA News Agency – According to the changes related to Muharebeh (waging war against god) in the New Islamic Penal Code, those who have been convicted of Muharebeh based on the previous penal code, will now have the possibility for a retrial, commutation and release. Currently tens of prisoners in Iranian prisons are convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons, this includes at least 37 male prisoners who are facing 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. The following is the fourth list published in regards to “Prisoners Convicted of Muharebeh” and is dedicated to these 37 male prisoners. The previously published lists in this series include “Women Convicted of Muharebeh”, “Male Prisoners Sentenced to life in prison”, and “Male Prisoners Sentenced to More than 20 Years in Prison.”
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), there are currently at least thirty-seven male prisoners in Iranian prisons who have been convicted of Muharebeh for different reasons and have been sentenced between 15 to 20 years of imprisonment. Since 2013, According to the changes in regards of Muharebeh in the new Islamic Penal Code, these prisoners could apply for retrial. Many of them could receive commutations and reach their release soon and considering the long prison terms of some of them, it could provide them the possibility of being release. Based on the new Penal Code, adopted in 2013, the charges of “Muharebeh (waging war against god)”, “Mofset-Fil-Arz (Sowing Corruption on earth)” and “Baghi (withdrawing from the obedience of the Islamic religious authority)” under Articles 279 to 288 have been redefined. Mohammad Mahdavifar Arrested Once More
HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Mahdavifar, resident of Aran and the poet who is known for his Alefba poem, was arrested again by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Lawyer Hopes “He’ll Be Released Soon.”
HRANA News Agency – Mahmood Alizadeh, Mohammad Ali Taheri’s lawyer stated that the charge of belligerent (insulting the profit and corruption on earth) was dropped from his client’s case, and expressed his hope that he would be released after the court session in about a month.

A Journalist Detained and Interrogated for Several Hours
HRANA News Agency – A correspondent was arrested and interrogated for 7 hours in the building of Tehran Municipality.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ferortish Rezvanieh had announced on his page that he had introduced him to the guards of both buildings of Municipality of District 3 and they allowed him to enter the building with his camera, but a few minutes later an arrest warrant for him on charge of lack of coordination with public relations of Tehran Municipality for entering into the building, was issued. Sina Ghalandari Released on the Bail
HRANA News Agency – Sina Ghalandari, journalist from Koohdasht, who was arrested after being summoned for investigations on August 30, was taken to a hospital following severe weakness and due to a disease, and then was released temporarily on the bail, but still remains in the hospital. Mr. Ghalandari was acquitted during the investigations by the prosecutor but for unknown reasons, the prosecutor issued his detention order.

Mahmood Masoumi Summoned and Released on the Bail
HRANA News Agency – Mahmood Masoumi, one of the detainees in front of Dena building, was summoned to the IRGC Intelligence on September 5. The activist was released on the bail until trial.

HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Montazeri, son of Ayatollah Montazeri showed up at Qom Special Court for Clergies for the sixth time on September 5, because of publishing his father’s audio file about executions of political prisoners in Iran in 1988. He was charged and temporarily released on the bail of 700 million IRR until the next hearing.
