11 Prisoners Executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison

HRANA News Agency – Death sentences of at least 11 prisoners from various prisons who had been transferred to the solitary confinements of Gezelhesar Prison were executed. One of those prisoners was a woman. HRANA has been able to obtain the identities of two of them so far. Two of the detainees were executed separately in the public.

Mohammad Najafi Will Be Tried in the Criminal Court

HRANA News Agency – The indictment was issued for Mohammad Najafi, a lawyer and human rights activist by the prosecution of city of Shazand with the charges of “spreading lies and disturbing public opinion”. Mr. Najafi must be present in the criminal court shazand on August 3.

Koorosh Zaim Received His Verdict in the Prison

HRANA News Agency – The verdict of Koorosh Zaim, political activist and member of central council of National Front of Iran, was notified. He previously was arrested to serve the sentence and was transferred to ward 8 of Evin prison.

An Iranian-American Arrested in Gorgan

HRANA News Agency – Reza (Robin) Shahini, an Iranian-American citizen was arrested about 2 weeks ago by security forces in the city of Gorgan and was transferred to an unknown location.

3 Sunni Prisoners Sent to Solitary Confinements

HRANA News Agency – Three Sunni prisoners of Rajaei Shahr prison who previously had been transferred to solitary confinements, after being back to the general ward, were again transferred to solitary confinements of IRGC for unknown reasons.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Kaveh Vaisy, Kaveh Sharifi and Jamal Ghaderi, three Sunni prisoners of hall number 12 of Rajaei Shahr prison were transferred to solitary confinements in IRGC’s ward for unknown reasons. A Journalist’s Case Sent to the Criminal Court

HRANA News Agency – Mostafa Fathizadeh, journalist and reporter of Peyk-e-Shushtar and ILNA will be tried soon on charge of spreading lies in branch number 101 of criminal court of Shushtar.

Maryam Naghash Zargaran’s Mother Expresses Her Concern about Her Daughter’s Situation

HRANA News Agency – Maryam (Nasim) Naghash Zargaran, Christian convert in women’s ward of Evin is on the 23rd day of her hunger strike. The prisoner’s mother has sit in front of the camera and expressed her concerns about her daughter’s situation and explained what had happened to her daughter during being arrested, interrogated and three years of imprisonment.

4 Sunni Turkmens Tried on Charge of Membership in Daesh

HRANA News Agency – Yones Nafsi, Abdulhay Agh Atabay, Mohammed Safa Moradi Gonbad and Vahid Yazdanparast, four Sunni Turkmen religious activists have been tried on charges of acting against national security and membership in Daesh on July 24, 2016. The Turkmen civilians strongly denied the charges and know themselves as missionaries whose religious beliefs are in conflict with Islamic fundamentalists such as Daesh.

Amir Amirgholi’s Appeal Court Will Be Held in August

HRANA News Agency – The Appeal Court of Amir (Ali) Amirgholi, political prisoner in Evin prison with primitive sentence of 19 years and six months in prison will be held in August.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the Appeal Court of Amir (Ali) Amirgholi, political prisoner in Evin prison with primitive sentence of 19 years and six months in prison will be held in branch 36 of the Appeal Court on August 3, 2016.
Amir Amirgholi, political prisoner in ward 8 of Evin prison, who had gone on hunger strike in protest against his conditions and lack of separation of crimes, ended his hunger strike after 18 days in ward eight of Evin Prison, in response to requests from civil rights and political activists.
His father told HRANA’s reporter: “Amir is held in ward eight of Evin prison where most prisoners are foreigners. He has requested to be transferred from this ward based on the principle of separation of offenses, due to inappropriate health and hygiene condition and be in danger by living in the ward with prisoners who suffer from infection diseases such HIV and Hepatitis, but despite repeated requests and hunger strike, no action has been taken.”
Amir Amirgholi, former student activist and political prisoner in ward eight of Evin prison, was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by branch 15 of the revolutionary court presided over by judge Salvati on charges of “blasphemy”, “insulting the Supreme Leader”, “gathering and colluding to act against national security”, “disturbing public order by participating in gatherings” and “propaganda against the regime”. In accordance with the Article 134 of the Penal Code and the aggregation of crime, the maximum sentence can be up to seven years and a half. His Appeal Court Branch has not be determined yet.
Amnesty International called on Iranian authorities to unconditionally and immediately release Amir Amirgholi and ensure that he is protected from torture and ill-treatment. Iranian authorities must ensure that he has access to lawyers and appropriate medical treatment and the principle of separation of offenses according to United Nations standards are considered about him.
