Keyvan Karimi Arrested to Serve His Sentence

HRANA News Agency – On November 23, 2016, Keyvan Karimi, prominent Iranian filmmaker who was summoned to the law enforcement of branch 1 of Shahid Moghadas court in Evin prison during a phone call to provide some explanations, was arrested and transferred to the quarantine ward of Evin prison to serve his 1 year in prison and 223 lashes.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Keyvan Karimi was sentenced to 6 years in prison and 223 lashes on charge of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic and blasphemy” due to creating a documentary about the history of graffiti in Tehran called “Writing on the City”, whose sentence was reduced to one year in prison and five years of probation and 223 lashes at the appeal court. Arash Sadeghi Transferred to the Hospital on the 39th Day of His Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – Arash Sadeghi, imprisoned civil rights activist in Evin prison who is on hunger strike, was transferred to the hospital, following a sharp drop in his blood pressure pressure and vomiting blood. This prisoner who is now on the 60th day of his hunger strike, was returned to prison due to refusing to receive medical serum.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Arash Sadeghi, civil rights activist who is imprisoned to serve his 19-year imprisonment sentence, has gone on strike hunger since October 24 in protest against the arrest of his wife, Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraei, to endure her six years imprisonment. 8 Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike in 3 Different Prisons

HRANA News Agency – Eight political prisoners in Evin prison of Tehran, Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj and central prison of Tabriz have gone on hunger strike. Their condition is reported critical. Vahid Sayadi Nasir, Arash Sadeghi, Ali Shariati and Amir (Ali) Amirgholi all in Evin Prison and Morteza Moradpour in Central Prison of Tabriz. And also Foad Rezazadeh has gone on hunger strike in Rajae Shahr prison in Karaj. On the other hand, Mohammad Ali Taheri’s wife, announced the hunger strike of her husband in interview with HRANA until his freedom. Mehdi Rajabian who was on hunger strike and was released on furlough, is suffering severely from the consequences of this strike. All this while Siamak Mirzaee announced his decision to go on hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activist News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Ali Taheri, Vahid Sayadi, Arash Sadeghi, Hossein Rajbian, Amir (Ali) Amirgholi and Morteza Moradpour in Evin prison and central prison of Tabriz and Foad Rezazadeh in Rajae Shahr prison in Karaj have gone on hunger strike since 15 to 56 days ago. Sohail Arabi Deprived of Furlough and Parole

HRANA News Agency – Sohail Arabi, prisoner of conscience, with a sentence of seven years and six months imprisonment, who had been arrested in December 2013, is being held in ward 350 of Evin prison. Relatives of Mr. Arabi believe that chasing his complaint against the internal websites as an “Accusation and spreading lies”, is the reason of continued opposition to his furlough and parole.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Soheil Arabi’s death sentence was dropped last year, and by the new sentence he was first sentenced to 90 months imprisonment and two years of religious studies to prove his regret and then his sentence of 90 months fell by 12 months to 78 months. Prisoners of 3 Prisons Face Lack of Hitting in the Winter

HRANA News Agency – Despite the wave of the cold weather in the country, at least in  Evin prison in Tehran, Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, and Central Prison of Urmia, lack of heating appliances, cutting off the gas, lack of warm water, and out of work powerhouses, have caused serious problems for prisoners.

A Report on 9 Prisoners with Life Imprisonment Sentences

HRANA News Agency – Seven political prisoners with a life sentence in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, have been held since 12 to 23 years ago without furlough in the prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), seven political prisoners, namely Mohammad Nazari, Karim Maroof Aziz, Omar Faghihpour, Khaled Fereidoni, Said Masouri, Afshin Baymany and Hamzeh Savari, respectively, have been held for 23, 20, 17, 16, 16, 16 and 12 years and have a total of 120 years of imprisonment. Sabri Hasanpoor Had a Heart Attack in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Sabri Hasanpoor, political prisoner had a heart attack and was transferred to Evin prison’s clinic. There is no information about the condition of this prisoner after the transfer.
