Amir Amirgholi Sentenced To 21 Years In Prison

HRANA News Agency – Amir Amirgholi, former student activist and political prisoner in ward 8 of Evin prison, has been sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court presided by Judge Salvati. In accordance with Article 134 of the Penal Code and the aggregation of the crime, the maximum applicable punishment of this sentence is up to seven years.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), “insulting religious sanctities”, “insulting the Supreme Leader”, “gathering and colluding to act against the national security”, “disturbing public order by participating in illegal gatherings”, and “propaganda against the regime” are some parts of the charges against Amir Amirghpli. A Report On The Situation Of Farhad Pirooti In Mahabad Prison

HRANA News Agency – Farhad Pirooti, political prisoner and resident of Sardasht, is serving the 4th month of his 5-year-sentence. He has been charged with acts against the national security and cooperation with conflicting parties.

Misagh Yazdanezhad In Solitary Confinement Since 3 And A Half Months

HRANA News Agency – Misagh Yazdanezhad, political prisoner who was transferred to Evin Prison and held in the solitary confinement for more than three and a half months, has not been able to visit his family yet.

“Union of Concerned Scientists” Called For Immediate Freedom Of Omid Kokabee

HRANA News Agency – “Union of Concerned Scientists” in a letter to President Hassan Rohani called for immediate and unconditional release of Omid Kokabee. Omid Kokabee, doctoral student at Texas University, was arrested in February 2011, and later in May 2012 he was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), in the mentioned letter which has been published on January 30th the UCS while explaining Omid Kokabee’s scientific practices, has requested the Iranian authorities, as the relations between Iran and the rest of the world are beginning to improve, to prepare the unconditional release of Omid Kokabee so that he can continue his peaceful scientific practices. Authorities Prevented Hamid Babai From Being Transferred To Hospital

HRANA News Agency – The officials in Rajaei Shahr prison prevented Hamid Babai from being transferred to the hospital, despite the court permission and the booked appointment in the hospital. The wife of this prisoner said, the request of furlough was also rejected with the order of the security officials.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hamid Babai was supposed to be transferred to Imam Khomaini hospital, but despite having court permission and booking the appointment with the physician, prison authorities stopped it. HRANA News Agency – Hamid Babai, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison of Karaj, was transferred to the hospital after two years of continues efforts regarding his hearing problems.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), after being transferred on December 30, to Imam Khomaini hospital in Karaj, his problem is recognized as ruptured eardrum, and after giving prescription he was asked to be returned with the results of the examination after a week.
