Two Individuals Arrested in Zahedan

Security forces arrested Ahmad She-Bakhsh and Abdolhamid She-Bakhsh, two residents of Zahedan, and took them to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Haal Vsh, on March 29, 2023, Ahmad She-Bakhsh and Abdolhamid She-Bakhsh were arrested by security forces.

The intelligence agents reportedly arrested them on their way from Chabahar to Zahedan and took them to an unknown location in Zahedan. Their family inquiries from security/judicial authorities have remained unanswered so far.

The allegations against these individuals are still unknown.

 

Two Individuals Killed in Unrestrained Shooting by Military Forces

In separate incidents on April 3, 2023, Hassan Siahani and Eslam Dorkhani were shot dead by military forces in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Haal Vsh, on April 3, 2023, a citizen was killed in an unrestrained shooting by military forces in Saravan County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

This individual has been identified as Hassan Siahani, age 40, and a resident of a village in Saravan County. The military forces reportedly began shooting directly at him without any warning.

According to another report, military forces shot dead another citizen, identified as Eslam Dorkhani, in Sistan and Baluchestan Province on the same day.

According to HRANA annual report, in 2022, 845 people were shot by military forces. At least 571 of the victims lost their life. This includes 22 kolbars, 9 fuel carriers, and 540 civilians. 274 people were injured by military forces open fire, including 134 kolbars, 128 civilians, and 12 fuel carriers.

 

 

Several Tour Members Arrested in Dezful

The Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Dezful announced the arrest of several tour members in Dezful County.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting ILNA, several tour members were arrested in Dezful.

Without disclosing the number of detainees and the allegations, the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Dezful, Mehdi Amadeh, mentioned breaking norms and indecent acts as the reason for the arrest.

According to this judicial official, this tour had lodged adjacent to Dez Dam Lake in Dezful Country. He also stated that the tour leader was jailed in prison.

Citizen Killed in Unrestrained Shooting by the Police in Kermanshah

25-year-old Azad Rezaie, a resident of Kermanshah, was shot dead in the head by the police.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Kurdpa, Azad Rezaie, a Yarsan Follower, was killed in an unrestrained shooting by the police in Kermanshah.

The police reportedly started shooting at his vehicle, leading to his death.

Dozens of Businesses Closed for Breaking Ramadan Rules

The Head of Supervision and Inspection of the Alborz Chamber of Guilds announced that 27 businesses were closed for breaking Ramadan rules in Karaj County.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting IRNA, 27 shops were closed by officials in Karaj for allegedly violating Ramadan rules namely serving food, eating, and drinking in public.

According to this official, in recent days, the police inspected 881 shops and restaurants to see if they are observing the rules.
Similarly, two businesses in Ahvaz were shut down, and a few people were arrested. Also, ten businesses in Neyshabur were closed.

Eating and drinking during the month of Ramadan have not been explicitly criminalized in Iranian laws. Based on Article 638 of the Islamic Penal Code, however, committing an act that the Islamic jurisprudence considers Haram (forbidden) can be subject to a penalty of either ten days to two months imprisonment or flogging of up to 74 lashes.

Three Citizens Arrested in Yazd for Allegedly Violating Dress Codes

Three citizens were arrested in Yazd following a quarrel with two religious vigilantes who harassed these citizens for allegedly violating dress codes.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Etemad Newspaper, three citizens were harassed and then arrested in Yazd for allegedly violating dress codes.

It is reported that the citizens were detained and their case has been handed over to judicial authorities.

The Iranian regime encourages citizens to get involved in enforcing the Islamic code in public as a religious duty, which demonstrates how significant compliance with these rules is for the government.

Asa’ad Arhani Arrested in Oshnavieh

Security forces arrested Asa’ad Arhani, a resident of Oshnavieh, and took him to a detention facility in Urmia.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Kurdpa, Asa’ad Arhani was arrested by security forces.
Arhani was reportedly arrested on the way back to Oshnavieh. The agents did not show any arrest warrant.

The reason for his arrest and the allegations against him are still unknown.

Citizen Killed in Unrestrained Shooting by Military Forces

On March 22, 2023, military forces shot dead Behzad Azizi, a resident of Baneh.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Kurdpa, on March 22, 2023, a man identified as Behzad Azizi was killed in a direct shooting by military forces.

Azizi reportedly took some Kolbars to border areas in Baneh County in his vehicle. He was killed by military forces while driving back.

Retired Teacher Zeinab Hamrang Arrested in Tehran

On March 12, 2023, security forces arrested retired teacher Zeinab Hamrang Seyed-Beglu in Tehran and took her to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on March 12, 2023, Zeinab Hamrang was arrested in Tehran while leaving home.

The reason for her arrest, the location she is detained, and the allegations against her are still unknown.

Hamrang, age 50, faced other arrests and convictions on prior occasions. In September 2020, she was arrested while she was on a trip to West Azerbaijan Province and transferred to Evin Prison. Subsequently, the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced her to five years for “assembly and collusion against national security” and one year for “propaganda against the regime.” Based on Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, five years in prison for the first charge was enforced. In October 2022, she was released early from Evin Prison.

 

 

 

Masoud Ghalandari Arrested in Yasuj

On March 14, 2023, IRGC intelligence agents arrested Masoud Ghalandari at his father’s house in Yasuj. The agents searched the house and confiscated some of his belonging.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on March 14, 2023, Masoud Ghalandari was arrested in Yasuj, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.

An informed source told HRANA, “today, ten IRGC intelligence agents raided his father’s house, beaten and arrested him. They searched the house and confiscated some of his belonging.”

Ghalandari was also previously arrested amid the 2022 nationwide protests.

The location he is detained and the allegations against him are unknown at the time of writing.
