The Latest Status of Arrested Civil Activists in Arak

HRANA News Agency – Since the beginning of public protests in January, a number of civil activists from Shazand and Astaneh, including Kian Sadeghi, Behzad Alibekhashi, Mohammad Najafi, Ali Bagheri and Abbas Safari, have been arrested by security forces. The arrests took place in a special way after they took part in the disclosure of how one of the protesters of the recent events, Vahid Heidari, died in the Arak Basij detention center. So far, two of these detainees have been released on a bail, and the rest of them have been transferred to Arak Prison by completing the interrogation process.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), a number of civil activists from Shazand and Astaneh who were arrested in connection with the protests in January, particularly the disclosure of Vahid Heidari’s death in Arak Basij detention center, have been transferred to Prison of Arak, after completing the interrogation process, and are still in a state of uncertainty. Two Activists Released from Arak and Evin Prisons

HRANA News Agency – Behzad Ali Bakhshi, a civil activist who had been arrested in connection with the protests in the Central Province in January, was released on the bail of 3.5 billion IRR from Central Prison of Arak on February 27.  Saeed Seifi Jahan, one of the detainees on February 1 was also released from Evin Prison on the bail on February 26.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Behzad Ali Bakhshi was released temporarily with a bail of 3.50 billion IRR from Central Prison of Arak on February 27. This prisoner had been arrested along with four other civil activists from Sha’zand and Astaneh, named; Kian Sadeghi, Mohammad Najafi, Ali Bagheri and Abbas Safari. Ahmad Karimi Released after Serving 9 Years

HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Karimi, political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj who has been serving his 15-year imprisonment from nine years ago, was released on parole. Mr. Karimi who was arrested before the election in 2009, was tried in an “arranged” court, after the election and was stuck by the security institutions as a detainee of the post-election demonstrations, and even sentenced to death in the primary court.

3 Administrators of Telegram Channels Sentenced to 12 Years

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Mohajer, Alireza Tavakoli and Mohammad Mahdi Zamanzadeh, administrators of multiple channels in Telegram, have been in Evin Prison for more than 19 months.

A Prisoner Committed Suicide In Zahedan Prison

HRANA News Agency – Vahid Safarzehi, a prisoner in Zahedan Central Prison, attempted suicide by eating razor.

Shapour Rashno Exiled to Adel Abad Prison of Shiraz

HRANA News Agency – Shapour Rashno, a political activist who had previously been sentenced to imprisonment in exile on charge of propaganda against the regime and had been detained in Ahvaz’s Intelligence Office for a while, was finally exiled to Adel Abad prison in Shiraz to serve his imprisonment sentence.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Shapour Rashno, national-religious activist from Khuzestan, who had previously been sentenced to four months of imprisonment on charge of propaganda against the regime, was exiled to Adel Abad prison in Shiraz to serve his imprisonment sentence, he is a doctoral student of political science. Osman Motafapour Begins Serving the 27th Year in Urmia Prison

HRANA News Agency – Osman Mostafapour, political prisoner in Urmia prison has been in jail since 26 years ago for serving the 35 years impressment sentence. Although according to prison calendar, he has served 28 years in prison. The Revolutionary Court and the Public Prosecutor sentenced him to a total of 35 years imprisonment in two separate cases in 1991. He has been deprived of having furlough or parole during all these years.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Osman Mostafapour (born in 1967) was arrested on July 14, 1991, and was tried in the same year. He was first sentenced to death by Judge Jawaheri, in Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia, on charge of assistant in murder.
