HRANA News Agency – At least 7 political prisoners namely Ehsan Mazandarani, Jafar Aimzadeh, Maryam Naghash Zargaran, Mohammad Sadigh Kaboodvand, Rasul Razavi, Heshmatullah Tabarzadi and Mohammad Abdullahi are on hunger strike in different prisons, in protest to their conditions. The physical condition of some of them is reported to be critical. Arash Mokri and Mohammad Amin Agoushi also had announced their strikes last month, but there is no information about the continuation or end of their strike.

Prison Guards Raided Ward 4 of Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – The prison guards raided ward number 4 of section 10 of Rajai Shahr Prison, with the justification of ward checking and inspection and destructed prisoner’s belonging and ward refrigerators.

Asghar Ghattan Released / Karim Maroof Returned to Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – Asghar Ghattan, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr was released from this prison. Whereas Karim Maroof, Iraqi prisoner who is also ill and was transferred from this prison to be exchanged 54 days ago, returned to the prison.

A Report about Akbar Amini Armaki’s Situation in Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Akbar Amini Armaki, political prisoner of Evin prison, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and 5 years deprivation from being a member of parties or political organizations during past 4 years and in three different cases. Mr. Amini has been imprisoned before the 2013 presidential elections. After a year and three months, the verdict of the appeal court has not been issued yet and as a consequence accumulation of the charges cannot be applied to him.
According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) – Akbar Amini was arrested first time by the security police at his work place, on June 22, 2009, and transferred to solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin prison. After two months he was released on the bail, and sentenced to conditional two years in prison by branch number 15 of the revolutionary court in Tehran on charge of acts against the national security, in March 2010. Hashmatullah Tabarzadi on Hunger Strike in Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Hashmatullah Tabarzadi, political activist, who was arrested on Tuesday morning, May 18, in the street and was taken to Evin Prison, is still kept in uncertain condition in this prison. Mr. Tabarzadi’s family announced that he was on hunger strike.

At Least 8 Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Dieferrent Prisons in Iran
HRANA News Agency – At least eight prisoners of conscience namely Ehsan Mazandarani, Jafar Azimzadeh, Maryam Naghash Zargararn, Mohammad Sediq Kaboudvand, Rasoul Razavi, Heshmatollah Tabarzadi, Mohammad Abdollahi and Ayat Mehr Ali Beygloo are still on hunger strike in various prisons in protest to their situations. The physical condition of some of them has deteriorated. On the one hand doctors of Taleghani Hospital are trying to stop Mohammad Sedigh Kaboudvand’s Potassium shortage. On the other hand, Jafar Azimzadeh was transferred to the Shohada Hospital on June 1, 2016 following the deterioration of his condition. Moreover, the prisoners, Arash Mokri and Mohammad Amin Agoshi also were on hunger strike last month, but the continuation or end of their strike is not known.

A Prisoner Died in Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj
HRANA News Agency – On June 1, Mojtaba Bigdeli, a prisoner in Rajaee Shahr prison died after a heart failure following lack of medical care.

Mohammad Abdollahi Goes on Hunger Strike in Urmia Prison
HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Abdollahi, death row political prisoner in Central Prison of Urmia who was warned about his sentence, has gone on an unlimited hunger strike to protest at the “unjust” verdict and the way of handling his case since May 29, 2016. This former resident of Bokan city has written an open letter to the Head of Judiciary in this regard, the text of which follows.

Afshin Sohrabzadeh Transferred to the Hospital again
HRANA News Agency – Afshin Sohrabzadeh, exiled political prisoner in Minab prison who suffers from cancer, was transferred to the hospital out of prison again, in the wake of severity of bleeding but despite the doctor’s opinion about the necessity of hospitalization, he was returned to prison twice without treatment by opposition of the authorities of Minab prison on June 1, 2016.

Afshin Baymani Urgently Transferred to the Hospital
HRANA News Agency – Afshin Baymani, political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison who is serving the seventeenth year of his sentence, was urgently transferred to a medical center outside the prison following a heart failure and severe pain in the chest on June 1, 2016.
