HRANA News Agency – Relatives of Hossain Rounaghi Maleki, ill political prisoner of Evin prison, say that he is on hunger strike. Ahmad Rounaghi Maleki, his father announced that if the situation continued as it was, he would also start hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hossain Rounaghi Maleki, blogger and ill prisoner of Evin prison, despite the recommendations from prison clinic, hospital physicians and forensics insisting that he had to be sent to a medical centre outside of the prison, is being still kept in the prison. In protest to sabotage that has been carried out on the process of his transfer to the hospital has started a hunger strike since March 26. Conflict between Prisoners in Rajaei Shahr Prison; At Least 1 Prisoner Killed
HRANA News Agency – During a conflict between prisoners in Rajaei Shahr prison, where many political prisoner are imprisoned as well, at least three people were injured by knife and another prisoner has been murdered. The atmosphere inside the prison is reported to be very tense.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Rajaei Shahr prison of Karaj, which is categorized by bureau of prison to be a place for prisoners with violent crimes, is also the biggest place for political-security prisoners in exile. Mostafa Tajzadeh Returned to Evin Prison by the End of His Furlough
HRANA News Agency – Seyed Mostafa Tajzadeh, political prisoner at Evin Prison, has returned to prison by the end of his furlough.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Seyed Mostafa Tajzadeh, the senior member of Mojahedin of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Organization (MIRO) and The Islamic Iran Participation Front (Mosharekat Party), who on March 19, 2016 was released from the prison on a furlough, on March 24, 2016 returned to prison by the end of the furlough. Ali Akbar Nikbakht Released from Golpaigan Prison
HRANA News Agency – Ali Akbar Nikbakht, 75-year-old and ill prisoner from Golpaigan prison, was released due to his illness and punishment intolerance.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ali Akbar Nikbakht, 75, who previously was sentenced to one year imprisonment for propaganda against the regime, was released by the approval of the Medical Commission in Esfahan. Authorities Do Not Address Hossein Ronaghi Maleki’s Health Condition
HRANA News Agency – Authorities have postponed the date to address the request of Hossein Ronaghi Maleki for a medical furlough. He is imprisoned in Evin prison and suffers from various diseases, and his problem will be addressed after the new year holidays in Iran. Also, despite an order from the prosecutor, prison authorities put extra difficulties to his transfers to the hospital from the prison.
One of the close relatives of Hossein Ronaghi, in this regard told HRANA’s reporter: “The review process for Hossein’s medical leave has been postponed until after the Nowrooz holidays”. He added that “despite an order from the prosecutor on not wearing prison clothes, handcuffs and shackles when he is being taken to a hospital outside the prison, some prison authorities disrupt in this issue”. Saeid Madani Released from Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Saeid Madani, sociologist and writer who was imprisoned in ward number 7 of Evin prison, has been released on parole after 4 years and sent to Bandar Abbas to serve his exile sentence.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Saeid Madani is a sociologist researcher, political activist, member of National-Religious council, member of the committee to defend free elections, member of investigation and follow up committee for arbitrary arrests, and member of executive council of human rights. After 4 years in prison, he has been released on parole after the agreement of the authorities from ward number 7 of Evin prison, in order to serve his exile sentence in Bandar Abbas. A Brief Report on the Situation of Minab Prison
HRANA News Agency – In Minab prison besides the inhumane conditions, there is a strange punishment for prisoners which is called by the authorities “Pa ziyarat” means “pilgrimage”. They say that it could “Heal” the prisoners. The report also raised the possibility of sexual abuse of young prisoners by prison guards.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a prisoner who had recently been released from prison said to the HRANA that “There is a column in prison where the prisoners are handcuffed and shackled to it for punishment, so that they cannot turn their head and this punishment might take 10 to 15 days. Security Forces Beat Political Prisoners’ Families in front of Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – A number of civil society activists and the families of political prisoners including father of “Athena Farghadani” who sit in in front of Evin prison on the eve of Persian New Year, have been beaten by the security forces.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), a group of civil society activists, including supporters of “Mohammad Ali Taheri” and relatives of political prisoners who were not sent to the so-called Nowruz furlough, had a sit in in front of Evin prison to begin the new year close to their beloved ones, but some people, including the father of Athena Farghadani and Dr. Farhad Maysami were beaten by the security forces. HRANA News Agency – 3 political prisoner of Evin prison, Mahmood Beheshti, Maisam Mohammadi and Amir Nozar Noripour were sent to furlough.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), by the agreement of judicial and prison authorities with the Nowruz furlough of the number of political prisoners in Evin Prison, 3 other prisoners were released from the prison.
