Prisoner Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj

On Wednesday, September 15, a prisoner who had previously been sentenced to death for murder was executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.

According to the HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activist, quoting Rokna, six years after the incident, this sentence was referred to the Judgment Execution Branch after being approved by the Supreme Court, and it was carried out last Wednesday.

Farshid Rakshani Rad Executed in Birjand Prison in South Khorasan Province

On Wednesday, September 15, Farshid Rakhshani Rad was executed in Birjand Prison in South Khorasan Province.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting The Baloch Activists Campaign, Mr. Rakhshani Rad had previously been sentenced to death on drug-related charges. He was from Mashhad.

At dawn on Monday, September 13, inmate Hossein Alapour was executed in Qom Prison after several years on death row.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Iran Human Rights (IHR), Alapour was detained and sentenced to death about 4 years ago, and remained in prison until his execution.

Ali Mardan Boland Gerami Executed in Yasuj Prison after Receiving Sentence Based Solely on “Qassameh”

At dawn on Wednesday, September 8, Ali Mardan Boland Gerami, was executed in Yasuj Prison.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, Gerami was sentenced to death for murder based on “Qasameh”, an accepted form of proof of guilt within Iran’s legal system based solely on relatives’ oaths.

Mr. Gerami was sentenced to death for murdering his wife, and, while the court did not find adequate evidence, it made the ruling based on the swearing of the wife’s family.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, 30-year-old Mohammad Sadeghzadeh was executed in Ardabil Prison on the morning of this Wednesday, September 1.

Sadeghzadeh, whose identity has been verified by HRANA, had previously been sentenced to death for murder.  Mr. Sadeghzadeh was arrested about four years ago and had since been held in Ardabil Prison.
