Sentences of 5 Political Prisoners Reduced to 2 Years

HRANA News Agency – Seyed Mahmoud Alizadeh Tabatabaei, lawyer of the defendants of the case, known as “Influence Project” announced the reduction of their sentences to two years imprisonment by an appeals court in Tehran. Isa Saharkhiz, Ehsan Mazandarani (editor of Farhikhtegan newspaper), Saman Safarzaee (journalist of Andishe Pooya), Davud Asadi and Afarin Chitsaz were arrested by the Revolutionary Guards After Iranian leader’s speech about “influences of the enemy” and Tehran revolutionary court sentenced them to long-term Imprisonments.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the sentences of 4 political prisoners were reduced to 2 years. (more…)

Ehsan Mazandarani Returned to Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Ehsan Mazandarani, former editor of Farhikhtegan newspaper returned to Evin Prison by the end of his furlough.

Afarin Chitsaz and Ehsan Mazandarani Released from Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Afarin Chitsaz, imprisoned journalist was released on the bail and Ehsan Mazandarani former editor of “Farhikhtegan Newspaper” was sent to a three-day-long furlough. At the same time, there are unconfirmed reports of granting furlough to Davood Asadi and Saman Safarzaiee.

At Least 5 Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Different Prisons

HRANA News Agency – The hunger strike of 5 political prisoners, namely, Jafar Aimzadeh, Ehsan Mazandarani, Mohammad Abdullahi, Shahram Poormansouri and Ayoub Asadzadeh continues. The physical condition of some of them, including Ehsan Mazandarani, and Jafar Azimzadeh, is reported to be critical. Narges Mohammadi, is another prisoner who has started her hunger strike in protest to not being allowed to have contact with her children.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ehsan Mazandarani, Jafar Azimzadeh, Mohammad Abdollahi, Shahram Poormansouri, Ayoub Asadzadeh and Nargers Mohammadi are on hunger strike in Evin, Rajai Shahr, Uremia, Tabriz and Kashmar prisons, in protest to their situations. The physical condition of some of them, including Ehsan Mazandarani, Rasoul Razavi and Jafar Azimzadeh, is reported to be critical.

At Least 7 Prisoners Are on Hunger Strike in Different Prisons

HRANA News Agency – At least 7 political prisoners namely Ehsan Mazandarani, Jafar Aimzadeh, Maryam Naghash Zargaran, Mohammad Sadigh Kaboodvand, Rasul Razavi, Heshmatullah Tabarzadi and Mohammad Abdullahi are on hunger strike in different prisons, in protest to their conditions. The physical condition of some of them is reported to be critical. Arash Mokri and Mohammad Amin Agoushi also had announced their strikes last month, but there is no information about the continuation or end of their strike.

At Least 8 Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Dieferrent Prisons in Iran

HRANA News Agency – At least eight prisoners of conscience namely Ehsan Mazandarani, Jafar Azimzadeh, Maryam Naghash Zargararn, Mohammad Sediq Kaboudvand, Rasoul Razavi, Heshmatollah Tabarzadi, Mohammad Abdollahi and Ayat Mehr Ali Beygloo are still on hunger strike in various prisons in protest to their situations. The physical condition of some of them has deteriorated. On the one hand doctors of Taleghani Hospital are trying to stop Mohammad Sedigh Kaboudvand’s Potassium shortage. On the other hand, Jafar Azimzadeh was transferred to the Shohada Hospital on June 1, 2016 following the deterioration of his condition. Moreover, the prisoners, Arash Mokri and Mohammad Amin Agoshi also were on hunger strike last month, but the continuation or end of their strike is not known.
