Comprehensive Report: Seven Days of Protests in Iran

HRANA -The Center of Statistics at Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRAI) has published a report regarding the recent seven days of protests in Iran which occurred from December 28, 2017 to January 03, 2018. Currently, we have reports on the extent of the protests and the names of arrested individuals as of January 09, 2018.

At the time of compiling this report, the Iranian State had not provided a conclusive report of the protests and it’s under currents. Therefore, this report should be deemed as a cursory review and a collection of the reports of the events rather than a singularly comprehensive one. (more…)

Saman Naseem Examined by the Forensic about His Mental Age

HRANA News Agency – In the case of Saman Naseem, death row juvenile offender in the central prison of Orumieh who had been warned about the execution of his sentence, during past few days, the lack of mental age at the time of the crime was emphasized by forensic tests which also has been sent to the judge.

“They Took our Comrade in front of our Eyes.” Mohammad Abdollahi’s Cellmates Talk

HRANA News Agency – Cellmates of Mohammad Abdollahi, a political prisoner who was hanged last week in Uremia Prison, with a glimmer of hope were waiting to see their cellmate, after his execution was denied by the provincial authorities, however, they and his family believed that they would never see him again by official confirmation of his execution.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the last people who have seen Mohammad Abdollahi told HRANA that on Sunday at 8:20 a.m. they took Mohammad Abdollahi from the ward. (more…)

Authorities Confirm the Executions in Uremia Prison

HRANA News Agency – Despite the initial denial of Head of Prisons Office in West Azerbaijan province, finally and after 5 days the Head of Judiciary of the province confirmed the execution of Mohammad Abdollahi, political prisoner and 4 drug offenders. HRANA had already reported the executions and rejected the denial of authorities.

According to the report of Human Rights Activist News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Although the families of 7 prisoners including Mohammad Abdollahi’s family had been summoned to Uremia Prison for the last visit and on August 9 the names of 5 executed prisoners were read for the families in front of the prison and at least 4 corpses were delivered to the families, the Head of Prisons Office in West Azerbaijan province denied the execution of 6 prisoners in Uremia prison. However he failed to specify if he denied the number of executed prisoners or the executions in general which had left Mohammad Abdollahi’s family in confusion. Despite Authorities’ Denial, HRANA Confirms the Executions in Uremia Prison

HRANA News Agency – Although the families of 7 prisoners including Mohammad Abdollahi’s family had been summoned to Uremia Prison for the last visit and on August 9 the names of 5 executed prisoners were read for the families in front of the prison and at least 4 corpses were delivered to the families, the Head of Prisons Office in West Azerbaijan province denied the execution of 6 prisoners in Uremia prison. However he failed to specify if he denied the number of executed prisoners or the executions in general which has left Mohammad Abdollahi’s family in confusion.

According to the report of Human Rights Activist News Agency in Iran (HRANA), during the last hours of August 7, the families of 7 prisoners who had been taken to solitary confinements were summoned to Uremia Prison to visit their beloved ones for the last time before the execution. (more…)

Further Information about Executions in Central Prison of Uremia

HRANA News Agency – New reports indicate that only 5 of 7 prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinements in Central Prison of Uremia were executed this morning. The executions of a woman and a man were postponed for unknown reasons.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Abdollahi, political prisoners and 6 drug offenders had been taken to solitary confinements of Central Prison of Uremia last evening to be executed. (more…)

Mohammad Abdollahi’s Family Is Not Allowed to Receive His Body

HRANA News Agency – When Mohammad Abdollahi’s family went to Uremia Prison to receive his corpse, the authorities confirmed the execution but refused to deliver the body. They were told that they were not allowed to hold a funeral in any mosque and they would not receive the corpse.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the authorities of Uremia Central Prison confirmed the execution of Mohammad Abdollahi, refused to deliver his body to his family and prohibited them from holding funeral in a mosque. (more…)

Mohammad Abdollahi and 5 other Prisoners Executed in Uremia

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Abdollahi, political prisoner and 5 drug offenders were executed today in Central Prison of Uremia. Mohammad Abdollahi’s lawyer had insisted on his client’s innocence and asked the authorities to halt the execution.

Mohammad Abdollahi’s Lawyer: “My Client Was Never Treated Legally.”

HRANA News Agency – Mostafa Ahmadian, Mohammad Abdollahi’s lawyer made some new remarks about the injustice and illegal procedures in his client’s case. He called on the authorities to halt or postpone the execution until the judicial procedure has been completed.

In his interview with HRANA, Mostafa Ahmadian stated: “There many things which are wrong with this case. My client was never treated legally and fairly. He has never taken up guns.” (more…)

A Woman among the Prisoners Scheduled to Be Executed Tomorrow in Uremia Prison

HRANA News Agency – The number of prisoners who are going to be executed in Uremia prison tomorrow has been reported to be 7 including an imprisoned woman from women’s ward of this prison. A couple have been both transferred to solitary confinements to be executed. Their 3-year-old who had been born in the prison was given to his father’s family outside the prison last night.
