A Number of Sunni Arab Civilians Arrested in Shushtar

HRANA News Agency – Recently, a large number of mainly Sunni Arab citizens from Shushtar were arrested by security forces. There is no information about their fate, so far.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the headquarters of Abolfazl Abbas forces of the Ministry of Intelligence along with the forces of Basij went to Alam al-Hoda street in the south of Shushtar city and arrested numerous (about 20 persons) Sunni Arabs who were doing their morning group prayers and transferred them to an unknown location, on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. The Popular Judge of Kurdistan Prevented from Traveling to Zahedan

HRANA News Agency – Hassan Amini, the popular judge in Kurdistan and the principal of the seminary of Imam Bukhari was prohibited from participating in the graduation ceremony of the students of Darul Uloom Zahedan by the Intelligence service of this city. Mr. Amini was threatened by this security department that if he would participate in the event, there would be problems for him.

3 Baha’is Sentenced to Prison Terms

HRANA News Agency – Three Baha’i residents of Mashhad namely, Khashayar Tafazoli, Shayan Tafazoli, and Sina Aghdas Zadeh were sentenced to one year imprisonment, on charge of “acting against national security by teaching the Baha’i Faith”.

A Prisoner Chained to the Flagpole in the Yard of Ardebil Prison

HRANA News Agency – A newly arrived prisoner was chained to a flagpole in the yard of Ardebil prison since February 8, 2017 for 2 days. The prison authorities have tortured him in the cold weather for at least 48 hours on suspicion that the detainee had carried drugs in his abdomen. Ardebil prison officials had done such tortures previously.

Atena Daemi on Hunger Strike in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Atena Daemi, imprisoned human rights activist in Evin Prison, has gone on hunger strike in protest against “the fake case” and judicial condemnation of her family members. Ms. Daemi has lost 10 kg weight and has physical problems.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Atena Daemi, human rights defender who is imprisoned in the women’s ward in Evin prison, has gone on hunger strike to protest against the conviction of her sisters, Ensieh and Haniyeh Daemi, as “hostages” of the families of political prisoners, since the morning of Saturday April 8, 2017. 3 Prisoners Ended Their Hunger Strikes in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hadi Asgari and Amin Afshar Naderi, two Christians and Omid Shahmoradi Sanandaji, security prisoner, ended their hunger strikes with the authorities’ favourable promises.
According to the report of Human Rights Atavists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), following the attendance of Mr. Bakhtiari, chief of the Attorney General, and Mr. Khairuddin, Deputy Attorney General, at Hall 12 of Evin prison, on February 14, 2017, and promising to solve the issues with the prisoners’ cases and advising them to end their hunger strike also warning signs of Omid Shahmoradi’d illness, this prisoner ended his hunger and medication strike, after 10 days. Omid Shahmoradi on Hunger Strike in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – In February, the head of the clinic of Evin prison announced that the health condition of Omid Shahmoradi Sanandaj, security prisoner who was on hunger strike was inappropriate and the continuation of the strike was “a serious risk” for him. Meanwhile, in a meeting with Mr. Shahmoradi, prison officials called him to end the strike and give the opportunity to follow up on his demands, but the prisoner stressed that he would continue his strike until achieving his demands due to bad history of authorities
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Omid Shahmoradi Sanandaj, security prisoner in Evin prison, has written an open letter to the prosecutor overseeing the prison, and emphasized on “the failures by the executive and judicial bodies in his case” which had occurred despite “repeated legal follows”, his letters had never been addressed by authorities. He also referred to the “injustice” on his family, including “defamation of his wife in the meeting room” and lack of response to his complaint and declared a hunger strike. The Latest Status on Imprisoned Christians Arrested in Firoozkooh

HRANA News Agency – Amin Afshar Naderi, one of the Christian converts who are held in Evin prison since six months ago, has gone on hunger strike in protest against his status. Two citizens of the five detained Christians were released on the bail and three others are still in Evin prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activist News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Amin Afshar Naderi Christian convert in Ward 4 of Evin prison has gone on hunger strike in protest against his status since February 5, 2017. A 17-Year-Old Activist Arrested in Ahvaz

HRANA News Agency – Ali Kab Aamir, 17, from Kian Abad in Ahvaz was arrested by the Ahvaz intelligence office at his house. The hand of the teenager broke while being arrested as a result of his resistance and protest of his family. It is said that his mother was shocked and is hospitalized due to her critical condition.
According to the report of Human Rights Activist News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ali Kab Aamir’s relatives told that during the home inspection, the family’s computer and several mobile phones were seized by intelligence ministry of Ahvaz and he was taken to an unknown location.
