The List of Prisoners Charged with Muharebeh and Sentenced to More than 20 Years

HRANA News Agency – Prisoners who have been charged with Muharebeh according to the old Penal Code, would find the chance of a retrial, after the changes and may receive reduction in their sentences or be released. Currently there are at least 48 male prisoners in Iranian prisons on charges of Muharebeh, who have in different ways been sentenced to more than twenty years imprisonment (with the exception of life imprisonment sentences).

3 Prisoners Live in Limbo in Prison of Sanandaj

HRANA News Agency – Three prisoners with drug and criminal charges in Sanandaj Central Prison still face the prolongation of the proceedings, despite years of waiting and changes in requirements in their cases. The prisoners are protesting against this situation.

Increasing Pressure on Christians in Iran

HRANA News Agency – The pressures have increased on religious minorities in Iran in recent months. At least 31 Christians, including 3 citizens of Azerbaijan Republic have been arrested in Isfahan, Tehran and Firoozkooh. 19 of these are under detention and the fate of 11 people is not known yet.

A Prisoner Committed Suicide in Ghezel Hesar Prison

HRANA News Agency – Due to the stress and psychological pressure, Hadi Haj Mohammadi, prisoner of unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar prison committed suicide and died in Loghman hospital.
