HRANA News Agency – Three citizens of Somali and three citizens of India who were arrested in the dhow. According to them they were not even in the Iranian sea, however they have been sentenced to fines of 2700 million IRR and it is about 1 year and 6 months that they are kept in Zahedan prison with the problem of lack of familiarity with the language and laws and without communication with their families.

HRANA News Agency – On May 9, 2010, Farzad Kamangar, teacher and human rights activist, along with four other political prisoners named Ali Heydarian, Shirin Alam Holi, Farhad Vakili and Mehdi Eslamian were executed after a flawed judicial process, secretly and without the knowledge of their lawyers and families at the parking of Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the execution verdict of Farzad Kamangar and four other prisoners among the unprecedented wave of domestically and internationally protests, was carried out while according to the documents, their judicial process was full of specific cases of rights violation including detention in contravention of the law, the long-term maintenance in solitary confinement without access to a lawyer during detention, physical and psychological torture against them especially in the case of three of them in detention centers of Sanandaj and Kermanshah, as well as numerous procedural violations, so that at least three of the defendants (Farzad Kamangar, Farhad Vakili and Ali Heydarian) were known as “Muhareb” and the death sentence was issued a for them without their chance of defense in a seven-minute-long court. HRANA News Agency – The jury of documentary section of the 61 th Cannes Film Festival called to cancel the sentence of Keyvan Karimi on its website in part of introducing the judges and documentary films which compete, attracting audience’s attention to the fate of the Iranian artist sentenced to imprisonment, lashing and a fine and called for continued international effort to cancel his sentence in an article entitled “Solidarity with Iranian filmmaker Keyvan Karimi”.

HRANA News Agency – The warden of ward 4 in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, has attended Hall 10 of this ward and has told the death row Sunni prisoners that their sentences had been referred to the executive office and the risk of their execution is very high, if they were seeking forgiveness, they should write their letters soon.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the warden of ward four of the Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, Mr. Shojaee, has gone to Hall 10 of this prison, where there are 27 Sunni prisoners, with confirmed death sentences, and announced that all their verdicts had been referred to the executive office and the risk of their execution was very high on Saturday 30th April. HRANA News Agency – at least 100 prisoners with homicide charges are kept on wards number 4 and 5 in Uremia prison. HRANA is trying to gain public attention in order to save them from execution by publicizing their identities. For this reason identity of 55 prisoners under death row is following.

HRANA News Agency – Yousef Silavi has disappeared since November 8, 2009, few days after his arrival in Iran after visiting his daughters in Syria, and despite his family’s efforts there is no information about his faith. He was questioned in the Iranian embassy in Syria along with his daughter while he did not have any political activities. According to unofficial statements of the security authorities, he is a hostage in order to force his daughters Mona and Shima, who are helping in translation for Arab asylum seekers, to go back to Iran. But no security organization takes the responsibility of his arrest, neither do they issue a death certificate for him.

HRANA News Agency – Ward number 7 of Evin prison composed of 8 halls is one the infamous wards of this prison, where mainly prisoners with financial crimes are being kept it. But at least 55 political-security prisoners are kept in this ward along with dangerous prisoners with drug smuggling and financial crimes in a very bad condition, in contrast with the separation of prisoners’ act, and are serving their long term sentences. There are at least 30 prisoners with HIV in this ward as well. The following report is about the condition of this ward, based on the interviews with first hand witnesses.
