HRANA News Agency – Applying the double restrictions by prison officials in Sanandaj prison along with a surplus population has made it very difficult for prisoners to serve their prison sentence. There widely are problems such as deliberate gas interruption, kidney and digestive diseases due to inappropriate drinking water, lack of appropriate medical facilities, non-separation of offenses, insulting and punishment and beating the prisoners, the poor quality and the lack of food in the prison, excessive congestion on the capacity and applying restrictions by prison officials based on what they would like.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Sanandaj Central Prison has a very low standard for keeping inmates and ensuring that the prisoners have their own defined rights despite the media advertisements by the judiciary.
