Behnam Ebrahimzadeh Transferred to Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, labor activist and political prisoner, in Rajai Shahr prison, has been transferred to solitary confinement.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on Saturday 31st May, after a verbal dispute, the ward boss with a physical attack to Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, transferred this imprisoned worker to solitary confinement at Rajai Shahr prison.

According to a relative of Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, this is because of Najm Hosseini, the head of Darul-Quran ward in Rajai Shahr prison was upset and remonstrated against the news that were published by the media about this ward  and he believed that Mr. Ebrahimzadeh has caused it.

The amount of punitive solitary confinement of this political prisoner is not known yet, but due to his health problems, his transfer to solitary confinement is a cause of concern for his relatives and friends.

One of the relatives of this prisoners, in a conversation with the HRANA’s reporter, said: “Behnam is suffering from severe arthritis and endures the pain, although, he has been repeatedly referred to the prison clinic, but it has not been helpful, because there is no equipment and facilities that are necessary for his treatment, also his requests for being transferred to a hospital outside the prison, has been rejected, so far.”

This labor activist prisoner is held in ward 2, known as Darul-Qran, in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj. Darul-Qran is one of the religious and ideological wards for prisoners who want by memorizing Quran or reading more Quran and practicing religious affairs, get amnesty and vacation.

An informed source of HRANA, earlier, regarding the condition of Mr. Ebrahimzaadeh in this ward had told: “Behnam’s situation in Darul-Quran is bad, prayer and reading Quran is mandatory. Behnam is held in a cell with a man who has been accused of murder and is dangerous and always causes Behnam more fear.”

It is to say that the son of this political prisoner has been affected by blood cancer, and it is more than two months after his last visit with his family. His family do not have regular weekly visit because of distance so Mr. Ebrahimzadeh has asked his family, not go to meet him.

Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, labor activist and Children’s Rights activist, on 12th June 2010 was arrested by security forces and by the Revolutionary Court, he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and his sentence was reduced on appeal to five years in prison. He is serving his sentence in the fifth year, and after the attacks to ward 350 of Evin prison, known as “Black Friday” was retried and sentenced to 9.5 years more imprisonment.

Mahmood Salehi Released from Detention of Intelligence Service

HRANA News Agency – Mahmood Salehi, labor activist was released from prison while physical weakness and illness was evident in his appearance.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mahmood Salehi, the member of Coordination Committee to Help Form Labor Organizations, has been released after 33 days, with a bad physical condition from the intelligence service detention in Sanandaj on Saturday May 30. Mahmood Salehi’s Detention Order Extended

HRANA News Agency – Detention order for Mahmood Salehi, labor activist, has been extended until 21st of June.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), after this labor activist’s case was transferred from Branch fifth to the Branch fourth of Sanandaj Court, his detention order has been extended until 21st June. Saeid Shirzad Faces New Charges in a Court without His Lawyer

HRANA News Agency – The court session of Saeid Shirzad was conducted, while his lawyer could not attend the session, because he was not informed.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Saeid Shirzad, children’s rights activist, was transferred to branch number 15 of the revolutionary court, early last week, without any notice and after he found out that his lawyer would not be available, he refused to sign the court proceeding and left the court without any defense. HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, imprisoned labor activist in Rajai Shahr prison, is deprived of access to health facilities despite the physical conditions and various diseases.

Arrested Syndicate Members Transferred to Evin Prison
