Mahmoud Masoumi and Elham Rasouli Sentenced to Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – According the verdict issued by Judge Moghiseh of Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, Mahmoud Masoumi and Elham Rasouli Baghi, two civil activists were respectively sentenced to 12 years and 1 year imprisonment due to attending the protest gatherings, contacts with the families of detained activists and insulting the leader.

Abbas Hossein Panahi Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Abbas Hossein Panahi was released on the bail after more than two months. At the same time, it has been reported that Afshin Hossein Panahi has been transferred to the central prison of Sanandaj. However there is still no information about the fate of Ramin Hossein Panahi, the prisoner who was shot and detained by the Revolutionary Guard forces.

No Information about Ramin Hossein Panahi after more than 100 Days of Detention

HRANA News Agency – Afshin Hossein Panahi’s mother, met with her son after about two months since his arrest by the security forces. The meeting was held at the intelligence ministry in Sanandaj with the presence of security guards. The fates of Abbas and Ramin Hossein Panahi are still unknown.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the authorities eventually allowed Afshin Hossein Panahi’s mother to visit her son at the intelligence ministry in Sanandaj with the presence of security guards after 57 days since his arrest. 3 Prisoners Executed in Qom Prison

HRANA News Agency – Three prisoners were executed on charge of murder in Qom Prison on August 15, 2017. The cases of these prisoners had been opened 21 years ago.

Ali Halafi Serving His 12th Year in Masjed Soleiman Prison

HRANA News Agency – Ali Halafi, Arab citizen from Hamidieh in Khuzestan province, is now held in Masjed Soleiman prison after serving 12 years of imprisonment. The prisoner has been deprived of having furlough and medical treatment during the long years of imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), following a series of explosions and bombings in Ahwaz in 2005, a number of Arab citizens of this city were detained. HRANA News Agency – Ali Mazraeh, political activist from Ahwaz, who was charged with acting against national security, had been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment by the preliminary court, after prosecutor’s objection and being retried by Branch 4 of Ahwaz Revolutionary Court, was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.

A Juvenile Offender on Death Row in Ardabil Prison

HRANA News Agency – Mehrab Eyvazi, juvenile offender from Ardabil was arrested at the age of 17 with nine other defendants. Mr. Eyvazi was accused of participation in kidnapping and rape. He was severely beaten at the police station and was threatened with rape by the police officer while he was naked in front of the camera. Mr. Eyvazi was sentenced to death, despite his young age. He believes that the verdict has been issued just based on his confessions which have been obtained while he was denied to access his family and lawyer and was subjected to torture and ill-treatment.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), according to two relevant incidents, a case with 10 defendants was opened in the judicial district in Ardabil, in addition to the plaintiff, at least 4 defendants were under the age of 18 years. Annual Report on Execution in Iran – 2017

HRANA – On the anniversary of the International Day of Fighting against People’s Execution, The Department of Statistics and Publications of the Human Rights Activists in Iran publishes an annual report on executions in Iran. This report is intended to provide visibility to the dire situation where thousands of people are awaiting execution. The present report concerns the individuals executed in the one year period from 10 October 2016 until the beginning of October 2017 and refers to at least 508 people executed in different parts of Iran by hanging. The report shows a rise by about 1% in the number of executions compared to the same period last year. Most of these individuals had been condemned to death in unfair courts and deprived of access to lawyers. Moreover, this report shall not be considered an accurate and comprehensive estimate since the Iranian government has placed enormous restrictions on human rights related activities and independent human right organizations. 3 Political Activists under Pro-longed Detention in Arak

HRANA News Agency – Bijan Kalngari, former political prisoner in the 1980s, along with two of his nephews who were kept at the intelligence office in Arak since July 26, 2017, were transferred to the Central Prison in Arak after almost two weeks of interrogations. These people, who are in a state of legal uncertainty, are still deprived of having a lawyer by the court’s refusal.
