At Least 1 Prisoner Executed in Orumiyeh Central Prison
HRANA News Agency – On January 10, 2017, three prisoners were transferred to solitary confinements in Orumiyeh Central Prison. On January 11, one of the prisoners was executed, two other prisoners received deadlines and returned to the ward.

4 Prisoners Executed in Mashhad
HRANA News Agency – On January 17, 2017, four prisoners with drug-related charges were executed in Vakil Abad Prison in Mashhad. A close person to at least one of these prisoners insisted on the “innocence” of one executed prisoner.

A Teenager Committed Suicide and Died in Shadegan

2 Prisoners Including a Juvenile Offender Executed in Kerman
HRANA News Agency – Two young prisoner, one of whom was 16 at the time of arrest after an unsuccessful attempt to obtain the consent of the next of kin by lawyers and civil society activists were hanged in the prison of Kerman.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on January 16, 2017, two prisoners with the identities of Arman Bahr Asemani, born on February 10, 1997, who had killed his cousin in Jiroft in 2012 when he was 16 along with the other prisoner, “Shamsollah, R”, 23, from Sirjan after an unsuccessful attempt to obtain the consent of the next of kin by the lawyers and civil society activists were hanged in the prison of Kerman. Ahmad Asgari in Critical Condition in Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Security agencies prevent Ahmad Asgari, ill political prisoner from being released despite his eligibility for freedom. Mr. Asgari is sick and is in a critical condition also needs to take care of his mother as the only surviving member of the family who suffers from cancer.

Torture and Threats of 15 Times Execution; A Report about Mohammad Ali Taheri
HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Ali Taheri, prisoner of conscience in Evin Prison in a letter announced the atrocities which he has seen over the past six years and asked to be released by the head of Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran. HRANA continues to investigate 55 pages of the latest defense of Mohamad Ali Taheri and his legal team’s defense.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mohammad Ali Taheri, prisoner of conscience in Evin Prison and founder of Erfan-e-Halghe in Iran in addition to 48 pages of the legal team’s defense, had written a 7-page long letter to the head of Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran on December 3, 2016 and called him to release him “after more than six and half years investigating the allegations” and with regard to several cases that he had raised in the letter.
