HRANA News Agency – Saeed Masouri, political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj is serving the 16th year of his life sentence without furlough and no prospect of freedom. The father of the political prisoner has been deprived of meeting his son since one year ago due to his age and the long distance to the prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Saeed Masouri, political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj despite having endured sixteen years in prison has no hope to be freed. The new Islamic Penal Code is silent and vague regarding granting freedom or parole to prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, it acts in order to prolong the detention of prisoners like Mr. Massouri. A Judicial and Intelligence Delegation Visits Urmia Prison
HRANA News Agency – On July 3, 2016, protection inspectors of Intelligence of Central Prison of Urmia visited political prisoners and spoke with them. During the meeting political prisoners called for the judiciary on behalf of Mr. Larijani to investigate judicial misconducts in their cases by expressing their problems.

Narges Mohammadi on Hunger Strike in Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Narges Mohammadi, political prisoner in women’s ward of Evin prison, has gone on hunger strike in protest to denial of having telephone contact with her children. The imprisoned human rights activist needs to take medicine to control her diseases and to continue the hunger strike can be dangerous for her health.

A Civilian Killed in the Police Custody in Tehran
HRANA News Agency – Nader Dastanpour from Tehran died in police custody as a result of the consequences of being beating during his detention including brain damage and not being transferred to the hospital. On June 23, he was arrested and a day after the detention it was announced that he had died.

2 Civil Rights Activists on Hunger Strike in Tabriz
HRANA News Agency – Milad Akbari and Ali Hamzezadeh, two Turkish (Azeri) activists from Tabriz, who had been arrested by the security agents of Ministry of Intelligence, have gone on hunger strike in protest to unclearness of the reason of their arrest from the moment of arrival to the detention of Intelligence Ministry.

Article 134 Won’t Be Applied to Mahdi and Hussein Rajabian

Isa Khan Hatami Released after 7 Hours of Interrogation
HRANA News Agency – On July 5, Isa Khan Hatami, member of the National Front of Iran and editor of banned Iranmehr magazine was summoned to the office of Ministry of Intelligence of Esrafin, and was interrogated for seven hours with 16 charges. He eventually was released by the warning of interrogators against the continuation of his activities including efforts to lift Iranmehr magazine’s ban.

4 Christian Converts Began to Serve Their Sentences in Ahvaz
