Video Footage of the Last Moments of Prisoners before Being Taken to Gallows

HRANA News Agency – The video footage that you can watch here shows the last farewell of Farzad Tahai and Amin Babai, two prisoners who were executed on June 1st in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. HRANA published this footage to draw the attentions to the matter of death penalty and precisely to the execution of prisoners with drug related charges in Iran.

During the recent months the rate of the mass executions and sometimes public executions has increased although the Iranian officials had told that they were going to consider the matter of eliminating death penalty on drug related charges in a bill in the parliament in April. Atena Farghdani Sentenced to 12 Years and 9 Months of Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – Atena Farghdani, drawer and children’s rights activist has been sentenced by Judge Salvati of branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court Tehran to 12 years and 9 months of imprisonment.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Atena Farghdani who is kept at ward 2-A of IRGC at the moment has been sentenced to 12 years of 9 months in prison. 7 Years and a half of this sentence could be implemented according to article 134 of the new Penal Code. 24 Years of Imprisonment for 3 Civil Activists

HRANA News Agency – Omid Alishenas, Aso Rostami and Ali Nuri have been sentenced to 24 years of imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), a verdict issued by the Revolutionary Court on May 30th have sentenced Omid Alishenas to 10 years and each of Aso Rostami and Ali Nuri to 7 years of imprisonment. Alireza Rasouli on Hunger Strike in Mahabad Prison

HRANA News Agency – As the authorities ignore Alireza Rasouli’s critical health condition he has begun a hunger strike in Mahabad Prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Alireza Rasouli’s has already asked the authorities several times to provide him with proper medical treatment which has been ignored so far. 12 Prisoners Hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison / One Died of Heart Attack in Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – 12 Prisoners have been hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison of Karaj and one of the death row prisoners died after a heart attack in solitary confinement.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), these 13 prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinements on May 30th. 12 of them were hanged on June 1st but a prisoner identified as Mohammad Mirnejad died after having a heart attack in solitary confinement. 4 Prisoners Hanged in the Prison of Uremia

HRANA News Agency – 4 Prisoners have been hanged in Uremia.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ardalan Rahdar, Mohammad Rashid Rahdar, Habib Rahdar and Shirzad Rashidi are the 4 prisoners who have been hanged in the Central Prison of Uremia on Monday, June 1st.

3 of these prisoners were cousins and all were charged with drug trafficking. They had been transferred to solitary confinements the day before.

The authorities have not announced the report of these executions yet.

Political Prisoners’ Children Scared of Prison Visits

Behnam Ebrahimzadeh Transferred to Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, labor activist and political prisoner, in Rajai Shahr prison, has been transferred to solitary confinement.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on Saturday 31st May, after a verbal dispute, the ward boss with a physical attack to Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, transferred this imprisoned worker to solitary confinement at Rajai Shahr prison.

According to a relative of Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, this is because of Najm Hosseini, the head of Darul-Quran ward in Rajai Shahr prison was upset and remonstrated against the news that were published by the media about this ward  and he believed that Mr. Ebrahimzadeh has caused it.

The amount of punitive solitary confinement of this political prisoner is not known yet, but due to his health problems, his transfer to solitary confinement is a cause of concern for his relatives and friends.

One of the relatives of this prisoners, in a conversation with the HRANA’s reporter, said: “Behnam is suffering from severe arthritis and endures the pain, although, he has been repeatedly referred to the prison clinic, but it has not been helpful, because there is no equipment and facilities that are necessary for his treatment, also his requests for being transferred to a hospital outside the prison, has been rejected, so far.”

This labor activist prisoner is held in ward 2, known as Darul-Qran, in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj. Darul-Qran is one of the religious and ideological wards for prisoners who want by memorizing Quran or reading more Quran and practicing religious affairs, get amnesty and vacation.

An informed source of HRANA, earlier, regarding the condition of Mr. Ebrahimzaadeh in this ward had told: “Behnam’s situation in Darul-Quran is bad, prayer and reading Quran is mandatory. Behnam is held in a cell with a man who has been accused of murder and is dangerous and always causes Behnam more fear.”

It is to say that the son of this political prisoner has been affected by blood cancer, and it is more than two months after his last visit with his family. His family do not have regular weekly visit because of distance so Mr. Ebrahimzadeh has asked his family, not go to meet him.

Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, labor activist and Children’s Rights activist, on 12th June 2010 was arrested by security forces and by the Revolutionary Court, he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and his sentence was reduced on appeal to five years in prison. He is serving his sentence in the fifth year, and after the attacks to ward 350 of Evin prison, known as “Black Friday” was retried and sentenced to 9.5 years more imprisonment.

Khaled Hardani Urgently Transferred to Prison Clinic

HRANA News Agency – Khaled Hardani, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr felt severe abdominal pain and ague, and was transferred to prison clinic on trolleys on Saturday May 29.
According to the reports of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), it is been said that the increase in the number of patients in Rajaei Shahr prison during past few weeks, should be known as the side effect of increasing the operational time of static distribution devices in prison. Ali Moezzi Transferred to Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – Following the new one-year-imprisonment sentence for Ali Moezzi, this political prisoner has been transferred to solitary confinement since last Thursday.
