The 5th Session of Trial of 6 Bahais in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – The fifth court hearing of charges against six Bahais took place in Tabriz on January 14. The accused are four members of the Bahadori family, Shabnam Issakhani and Rashin Saberi.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), during the hearing Simin Rasouli, the mother of the Bahadori family, was questioned, and the court was adjourned until January 21. In the previous hearings, Farzad Bahadori, the father of the family, Mrs. Rasouli, the children Sahar and Nassim Bahadori, Mrs. Shabnam Issakhani and Mrs. Rashin Saberi, were questioned for four hours. Bahai Student Expelled from the University of Mazandaran

HRANA News Agency – Noura Mesami, a Bahai student of software engineering at the University of Mazandaran, has been expelled from the university at the end of her first semester of studies.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA),  she had honestly stated her religion as “Bahai” in her application, and was excluded from the end of term examinations.

Security Forces Prevent Sunni Friday Congregational Prayers

HRANA News Agency – Iranian security forces barred Sunni worshipers from entering a Sunni prayer site in Tehran on Friday 9 January 2015, preventing them from holding congregational Friday prayers.

According to the report published by “Saham” Website, security forces were deployed Friday morning in the Pounak neighborhood of Tehran, where they blocked roads leading to the Sunni prayer site and prevented worshipers from entering the building. Two Death-Row Ill Sunni prisoners Transferred to Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Syed Hadi Hosseini (left) and Seddigh Mohammadi (right), two Sunni prisoners with psychological illnesses on death-row in Iran, were transferred to Rajai Shahr prison earlier today.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the two men, who had been sentenced to death for ‘Moharabeh [enmity against God] through supporting Salafi groups’, had been held in appalling conditions in the notorious Ghezel Hesar prison near Tehran for the past two years. Bahai Woman Died because of Lethal Poisoning in Shiraz

HRANA News Agency – Leila Kargar, a 42-year-old Bahai woman living in Shiraz, has been poisoned and killed by an unknown person, using Aluminium Phosphide, a powder that is used to kill insects and rodents.

30 Sunni Men Arrested in Village of Nasir Abad

HRANA News Agency – Iranian security forces have arrested at least 30 people in a series of raids earlier today in the village of Nasir Abad in Sarbaz, Sistan-Baluchestan province.

Several Bahais Arrested in Abadeh

HRANA News Agency – On December 29, 2014, agents from the Ministry of Intelligence arrested Farshid Rastegar and a number of Bahai students who had gathered in his home in Abadeh, a town approximately halfway between Isfahan and Shiraz.

Two Months in the Morgue: The Unburied Bahai of Ahwaz

HRANA News Agency – The body of a Bahai has been held in the morgue for nearly two months in the large southern Iranian city of Ahvaz because local officials have refused to allow his burial.

According to the report of Bahai World News Service, Shamel Bina passed away on 28 October but remains unburied, despite numerous appeals from his family and others, who have appealed to numerous officials from the governor general to the city’s Friday prayer leader. Susan Tabyaniyan Begins another Prison Sentence

HRANA News Agency – Susan Tabyaniyan, a Bahai from Semnan, has been summoned to begin serving a one-year sentence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), this is her second prison sentence: in May 2010 she was sentenced to 18 months in prison on charges of propaganda against the regime and membership of a Bahai organisation. Adnan Rahmat-Penah granted medical leave

HRANA News Agency – Adnan Rahmat-Penah, who is serving a one-year sentence in Adel-Abad prison in Shiraz, had been denied necessary medical treatment.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the Ministry of Intelligence withheld permission, but after two weeks, as his condition worsened, prison officials sent him for treatment without the permission from the Ministry of Intelligence.
