A Report About Azita Rafizadeh’s Status in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Azita Rafizadeh is an imprisoned Bahai citizen whose 6-year-old son has to live with another family due to the simultaneous arrest of her husband, Paiman Kooshkbaghi.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Azita Rafizadeh was born in 1980 in Shiraz. She finished the elementary and high school in Tonekabon, but like other young Bahais, she was deprived of going to university. For this reason she finished her bachelor degree in computer engineering in Bahai Institute of Higher Education (BIHE), which was designed and targeted young Bahais in order to enable them to continue their education. Atena Daemi Tried for the New Charges Put on Her

HRANA News Agency – The court session of Atena Daemi, imprisoned human rights activist, was held in Shahid Moghadas court in Evin prison. The IRGC is the compliance in this new law suit. During this session, some of the allegations of Ms. Daemi was dropped and the one regarding insulting the officers and hindering the apprehension was heard.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), allegations of insulting the supreme leader, insulting the authorities and spreading lies were dropped from the case and only the two allegations of insulting the officers during the arrest mission and hindering apprehension were heard. Nahid Gorji Released on Parole after Serving 22 Months

HRANA News Agency – Nahid Gorji, prisoner of conscience in Vakil Abad Prison in Mashhad was released on parole by serving 22 months of her sentence of 3 year. When she was in detention, various reports on her critical physical and mental condition were released while she was deprived of proper medical care and the officials prevented to deliver her medicine which was provided by her family.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mrs. Gorji who in the wake of her civil activities in cyberspace had been arrested, was released on parole after serving 22 months of the sentence of 3 years in Vakil Abad Prison in Mashhad. Masoumeh Zia Arrested at Her Arrival in Iran

HRANA News Agency – Masoumeh Zia was arrested at the airport when she was returning to Iran. Couple of hours after the arrest, security officers went to her house along with her, and searched her house, and then took her electronics and communication gadgets with them. According to the officers, a news case has been opened against her.

Shokoufeh Azar Masoule’s Appeal Court Held in Tehran

HRANA News Agency – On December 31, 2016, the Appeal Court of Shokoufeh Azar Masoule, civil activist, was held. She had previously been sentenced to one year in prison and five years of probation by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court. One of Ms. Azar’s charges was participating in demonstrations in protest against acid attacks.

A Comprehensive Report about the Women’s Ward of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – International Human Rights Day came, while many prisoners of conscience and exclusively 33 female prisoners with political and security charges are being held in Evin prison in women’s ward. 17 of them are mothers and 13 of them are older than 50 years old. At least 14 are suffering from different chronic diseases, 2 are not Iranians and 2 are dual-citizens. Accumulated served time in solitary confinements for these prisoners is 4275 days (more than 11 years).

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the women’s ward in Evin prison is composed of two levels. The warden’s office, mosaic workshop, leader workshop and yard are places on the first level. The second level is composed of 3 rooms where the prisoners are being kept. Room number 1, has nine double deck beds, room number 2 has seven doubled deck beds and room number 3 has seven double deck beds. Shanaz Akmali’s Family Confused by Authorities’ False Information

HRANA News Agency – On January 28, 2017, Karim Baigi family referred to the prosecutor’s office while having the required bail but judicial authorities told them, “she would not be released on the bail, she is now in prison custody”. Apparently interrogators have provided false information to the prisoner or her family on several occasions and causing confusion and increased the psychological pressure on them.

A Bail Issued for Shahnaz Akmali

HRANA News Agency – Shahnaz Akmali, mother of Mostafa Karim Baigi, a victim of the protests in 2009, was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence on January 25, 2017 and was transferred to the cells of ward 209 of Evin prison. Mrs. Akmali was earlier taken to a hospital for undisclosed reasons, and on January 26, 2017 a bail was issued for her.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists New Agency in Iran (HRANA), Shahnaz Akmali has told her family in a brief contact that a bail of 1 billion IRR had been issued for her and she was kept in, “multi-cells” of ward 209 of Evin prison. Atena Daemi’s Family Members Tried in Evin Court

HRANA News Agency – The trial of three members of Atena Daemi’s family was held in Shahid Moghadas Court in Evin Prison. Two sisters and one of the brothers in law of this family attended the hearing. According to the interrogator, the brother in law was acquitted and Atena’s two sisters were released on the bail after being charged.

Shahnaz Akmali Arrested and Taken to an Unknown Location

HRANA News Agency – Shahnaz Akmali, mother of Mostafa Karim Beigi, who was killed during the protests in 2009, was arrested at her house by the security forces. Security forces seized her belongings after they inspected her house.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Shahnaz Akmali was arrested by the plainclothes forces and was taken to an unknown location, in the early morning on January 25, 2017.

A close source to Karim Beigi family told HRANA’s reporter: “5 to 6 plainclothes agents raided Mrs. Akmali’s house and inspected it and then seized all her belongings including electronic devices and took them.”

Shahnaz Akmali is Mostafa Karim Beigi’s mother, who was killed during the protests in January, 2009.

Mostafa Karim Beigi was shot in the head, around Neauphle-le-Château Street in Tehran. Although he was a resident of Tehran, security forces did not allow his family to bury him in Tehran, so they were forced to bury him in in Shahriar in Karaj.

Mrs. Akmali had been summoned by the security forces, every year before his son’s anniversary, and got warnings regarding the restrictions to be followed in the anniversary.
