4 Women Transferred to Solitary Confinements of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Tahereh Riyahi, Masoumeh Zia, Mahsa Raja`ti, and Mehrak Karimpoor, 4 civil rights activists were transferred from women’s ward in Evin prison to solitary confinements in ward 241 (security of judiciary). Ms. Karimpoor returned to the ward one day later, but three others are still in solitary confinement of ward 241, and due to this reason were deprived of visiting their families.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), four civil rights activists who are imprisoned in women’s ward in Evin prison with the name of Tahereh Riyahi, Masoumeh (Pegah) Zia, Mahsa Raja`ti, and Mehrak Karimpoor Andalibi are transferred to ward 241 of judiciary for unknown reasons. Marjan Davari’s Lawyers Appealed against the Her Death Sentence

HRANA News Agency – One of the lawyers of Marjan Davari, researcher and translator on death row told, “we have objected the verdict but the court has not set a branch.” Marjan Davari, 50, after being transferred from women’s ward of Evin prison to the prison in Rey (Qarchak Women’s Prison) in February, was sentenced to death. One of the charges against Ms. Davari is membership in the emerging movement of “Eckankar”.

4 Activists Transferred to Women’s Ward of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Tahereh Riyahi, Masoumeh Zia, Mahsa Raj`ati, and Mehrak Karimpoor are four civil rights activists who were mainly active in the field of news coverage, and were arrested in late December and early January. They were transferred to general female ward after more than two months, from solitary confinement of ward 209.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mahsa Ra`ati, 36, was arrested on January 2, Tahereh Riyahi, 35, journalist and editor of Borna press was arrested on January 4, Masoumeh (Pegah) Zia, 39, was arrested on January 4 and Mehrak Karimpoor Andalibi, 24, was arrested on December 27. HRANA News Agency – Farzaneh Jalali, civil and women’s rights activist was released from intelligence service of Kermanshah province’s detention centre.

Deami Sisters Trial Held in Tehran

HRANA News Agency – On March 12, 2017, the trial of Atena Daemi and her sisters, Ensie and Hanye was held. The 3 sisters were charged with “obstruction of execution and insulting officials.”

Female Prisoners of Evin Prison Deprived of Proper Medical Treatment

HRANA News Agency – while sending political prisoners to clinics is always done with great difficulty by the judicial-security institutions, however, female prisoners, in particular women’s ward of Evin prison inmates suffer from severe deprivation, due to shortage of female security forces.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), to send prisoners to a hospital, according to the prosecutor’s order, the detainee must be examined by prosecution forensic and if approved then the transfer order will be issued. If there is a doctor who can cure the disease, then the prisoner will be transferred to prison’s infirmary, otherwise, will be transferred to medical centers contracted by the Prisons Organization. If families wish to transfer prisoners to another health center, they must make an appointment and pay the costs, after obtaining approval from the prosecutor. The Newest List of Prisoners in Women’s Ward of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – In the women’s ward of Evin prison where many mothers are being kept, it is not possible to make a phone call, visits are limited and there are many environmental problems in this place. This report gives the names, status and charges of 31 female political-security prisoners.

Atena Daemi Acquitted in the New Case

HRANA News Agency – Atena Daemi, imprisoned human rights activist was acquitted in the new case which was composed based on the complaint of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. On the other hand the prohibition of prosecution was issued for Ms. Daemi’s complaining against the institution, Ms. Daemi objected to the decision.
